I have no idea how to approach such topic having hundreds of titles completed and nobody not going to care about my list. Perhaps if it was filtered to games you've bought recently(last 5 years), it would be more sensible. At the same time we could see how few actually buy their games. If I use filtering like that my list is really short:

Assuming "playing out" means completion of story mode/main campaign or sach.
Also not including flash, browser games and simple minigames.
Probably forgot many but realized that there aren't actually that many on which I didn't give up and did play through until the end.

Windows Games:

Call of Duty
Diablo II
Dink Smallwood
Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Fallout 1, 2, 3
Grand Theft Auto III
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Max Payne
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
Need for Speed III Hot Pursuit
Outlaws
Plants vs. Zombies
Quake III Arena
Serious Sam 1, 2
Stronghold 1, 2, Crusader, Legends
World of Goo

DOS Games:

Blood
Bio Menace
Commander Keen 1, 2, 3, Dreams, 4, 5, 6
Dangerous Dave 2, 3
Death Rally
Doom 1, 2
Jazz Jackrabbit 1, 2
Prehistorik 2
Quake
Titus the Fox
Wolfenstein 3D

And the few console games I can remember completing, all others were too hard or long:
Super Mario Bros (NES)
Twisted Metal 2 (PS)

This.
Also, i expected it's gonna be something in the vein of those "Rate last videogame you played / movie you watched" topics, but it appears mans just write lists and that's it. I fail to see how this could be any interesting :(

Interesting enough for me. I'm looking for najs games to play as I've never been much of a gamer. I've been going through these lists and checking if anything seems interesting.

It makes me question whether or not you actually "play out" a game or just beat the main campaign.

Super Mario Bros 1
Super Mario Bros 3

Banjo-Kazooie
Super Mario 46
Mario Kart 64
GoldenEye 007 (N64)
Diddy Kong Racing
Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time

Need for Speed: Underground
Need for Speed: Underground II

Tomb Raider 1
Tomb Raider 2
Tomb Raider 3
Tomb Raider 4
Tomb Raider 5
Tomb Raider 6
Tomb Raider Legend
Tomb Raider Anniversary
Tomb Raider Underworld

I'm not playing that much now-a-days. Only Elma and probably the future Tomb Raiders. Maybe someone could recommend some games similar to Tomb Raiders (for PC or PS2)? I mean including cool puzzle solving, breath-taking scenery, long jumps on the ledges and shit.. are there any?

I have some 40-50 hours or playtime in Skyrim. I did a fair amount of sidequests, such as dark brotherhood questline/ companions guild and the stuff with the collage/eye of magnus and several soloquests here and there. I also went for all the words of power, leveled enchanting and smithing to 100 and had really imba armor and stuff at level 37.. after that my char felt op and went straight for the main quests and finished those. That is not nearly all of the stuff you can do in this game however i can admit that.

MW3 campain isnt really much to speak of, perhaps 10 or so hours usually enough to complete any FPS singleplayer game.

I actually believe that maybe half of every game in my total list list has been completed more than once, games such as half life series has been rounding them in circles infinity

Metro both games are spectacular survival horror shooters, probably one of my favorite games in the fps genre overall. I really got scared while playing these (FEAR didnt scare me) its pure monster horror, not any jump scares, and the only games where being out in an open surface above ground is actually more scary than being in dark caves deep underground with lurking spiders and whatnot, so thats a very unexpected refreshing and backwards-thinking that i highly approve of. I recommend playing alone in a completely dark room at night and at highest difficulty setting for maximum experience. Very narrative games also, especially last light.

Tomb Raider the new one was a genuine surprise, didnt expect anything going into it. But its PACKED with story, adventure, mystery, fast action killing, climbing and exploration. It's really indiana jones: temple of doom meets assassins creed. If you like any of the elements in those two then im sure ull enjoy this one in particular, cuz theres a lot of it.

Bioshock well, im not such a great fan of the first two games, the story is good but isnt really spectacular beyond belief, and its nothing super when it comes to the combat either. I guess slightly above average in overall. Some interesting things, flashy powers, standard gunplay. Its more about the atmosphere in the game that raises the rating for me. Bioshock Infinite is much better overall, a true sequel where everything has been improved, yet combat is still a bit generic gunplay, but that didnt bother me at all in this one. Good atmosphere in this one as well, great mysteries and one of the best stories and twists ive played this year, quite a bit of unexpectedness. Id definitely recommend playing it just for the story alone, if you are that kind of guy who love a good story in fps games, and could disregard the minor faults with some of the gameplay (combat).

Dishonored, another climber killer secret assassin game. Hardly the best game ever, but far from being bad. Story keeps it relatively simple (from what i can remember) Go disable/kill these guys, infiltrate this and that place, find this person, all while being sneaky, climbing and using gadgets and weapons of various kinds. Very dark steam-punky game atmosphere. With so many games like this out there (sneaky assassin games) you will find nothing revolutionary new and exciting and the story is hardly memorable. Not a bad usage of what is given, just wish there was a lot more to this game. On the list personally this was the least outstanding for me. I wouldnt play it again, while the other games here i just might.

dont see how FPS have improved at all since doom / quake. only collecting keys to open a door objective has changed into going to place A to get gazoline for the car tank (and wiith lot of cutscenes). Those are essentially two same things but the latter far less 'gamey'. For mood & story? fuk that elma doesnt have neither

i have to edit and give points for gravity gun in half life 2 :)

Hmm, you're making all of them sound interesting. I'll definitely play Metro and Tomb Raider and I guess I'll see about Bioshock and Dishonored.

Thanks a lot for the descriptions though! Since I see our tastes overlap significantly, could you list a few of your all time favourites? :)
