Completed primordia, best 8e spent in a long while, and it's the first game I've purchased from GOG that I've ever finished, and I've purchased many. It's probably one of the most solid point&click adventure games out there. It's not frustratingly hard, and afaik you can not die or get stuck like in the 90s adventure games. When you need help, the game will help you, it won't tell the right answers but it will give small tips. There's really much dialogue in the game, and every single line is voice acted (and it's good!), which is surprising for a game that looks low budget. It's really hard to say anything negative about the game. Maybe the graphics are a bit primitive even for a person like me who grew up with games that were blurry pixelmess, then again amount of pixels have nothing to do with art and expression, only amount of pixels. Maybe it also could have continued a bit longer, because I really started liking the game setting more and more towards the end

It still takes roughly 8h for a below average point&click adventure player like me.

I don't know why bother posting stuf like this but I grabsed portal 2 for like 3euros and finished the single player. Imo quite annoying game, didn't like much. I only liked it when I was stuck due to not being able to brain the puzzle, however those moments were very scarce, portal2 singleplayer story is extremely simple. And oftentimes I was stuck just because I didn't see some detail in the ohsogloriousfirstpersonfuckingview. Seriously, 2D topdown is just so much better than first person for puzzles because you can see the state of the entire puzzle at any given moment.

Excuse my rant and obvious tendency to like 80-90s styles gaymes for nostalgia. I'd still recommend portal2 though for its uniqueness if nothing else

I liked the first portal way more than portal 2 just for that reason.

Like you say, portal 2 is about finding some tiny patch of portalable surface that you can only see from certain angles etc. Portal 1 had way smaller, simpler chambers, and it was very clear exactly where you could place portals or not. Portal 2 is more of a story-driven adventure game with some puzzles, while portal 1 is more of a puzzle game with some story.

Yeps, also liked Portal 1 way more. Portal 2 focused on the story and literally breaking the wall, but that didn't bring anything interesting to the table. 1 was a clean, simpel and very original puzzle where the story was just secondary.

On tropic, I guess I squeezed all the pasibel fun out of GTA IV, except I didn't kill all the pigeons. I tend to give up on games when they're nat fun anymore, wander why.

Finished like 50 games this year so far. Not even sure why play so many, just keep clicking buy icon on steam mostly.

Every hour on day while not having anything else to do (and theres always a lot of those) need to boot up a game and play it.

Maybe some kind of ocd or restlessness anxiety problem?

I play a lot less because I do stuff with my gf and shit.
She allows me to play as much as I want but I don't want to play that much because it feels like I will shut her out. She is much more important anyway ofc!

I hang out with friends very little, maybe once in a month. Maybe you have more friends than me to hang out with? I have like.. one atm =D

Find a new hobby, stare at people, make a video of it. Save all money from buying games and buy a Dodge Charger 6.2 HEMI, get bitches etc..

I have a girlfriend, or sort of (complicated matter, she also lives far away, she is also a vicious gamer), and I play disc golf 5 days a week. Also hang out with like 5 different friends who all play disc golf as well and we do tons of other stuff like tabletop rpging and other activities. I read approximately 25-50 pages of "book" every day. Then I have my daughter every other week. Then I work.

Despite all that there will still be like 3-6 hours a day where "I have nothing to do". Daughter weeks she goes to bed at 18.30 - I stay up to 00.00-ish. Other weeks, usually come home maybe at 20.00 or so as they also have children that needs to go to bed at certain times, there are never any late nights.

I dread vacations, seing as I get restless when all of a sudden theres 8-10 more hours every day of useless spare time. I only sleep 5-5.5 hours every night also, enough for me to be hyper active xd

Let go of gaming whenever I met a girl, or play a lot less at least.
Don't meet a gamer girl.

I appreciate playing PC more now when doing it much more rarely.

Supaplex (and Winplex) - very nice game too, 2nd place after elma.
You is a 2d ball now. and u must take need amount of electrons and go to finish
there is leveditor and good opportunity to create puzzles.

Drod2 - 2d game, where u must kill cockroaches. with lev editor of course.

3d frog frenzy - oo super game) but imposs make levs

Supaplex seemed so cool but then I got annoyed by all the arcade-like levels, where it's not so much about thinking and more about reflexes, running away from scissors, etc. I thought maybe I should just cheat and skip these annoying levels but somehow I couldn't bring myself to do it and I just stopped playing instead.

I wonder what people think about limited visibility in Supaplex? Would the game be better if you could at any point view the whole playing field? Then you could avoid situations where you ruin your playthrough just because you didn't know there was something important down there. But maybe learning the field is also a big part of the game?

you can dl Winplex. there is almost 100% visibility)

I think anyway, in most levs you must mostly think, not run. And, if you run, you usually must think about right way to run.
And imo you don't need special reflexes to moving up-down-left-right.
btw, there is poss to reduce speed of game.

I in the main hate long levs, where are lots of monotonous movings, its much worse than runawaying from scissors.

Having played both the boulder dash games and supaplex, i enjoyed supaplex a lot more (loved BD too, however). Maybe it's mostly because i was 3-6yo when i played the former games, and my brain hadn't yet developed enough to properly appreciate them

Supaplex has some nice thinky levs, but learning the layouts is necessary for most (if not all) of the trickier ones, because there's almost always some global order that you have to follow, so even after you solve each individual section of the level, you'll still probably fail to solve it on your first go. Or you could instead just learn speedrun tricks and glitches and abuse them to solve everything, but that will definitely ruin the fun (most of them are fixed in Winplex btw). When we were little, it took months of collaboration between me and my best friend to beat it. And then i replayed it much later (~20yo), still enjoyed it much, but half of the main levels seemed trivial. Maybe it's worth testing those lev packs AndrY linked!

The only trick I know is making scissors run away from you. It's crazy to think that all levels are supposed to be finished without it!

My favorite level was called "Chamber Music", I loved how everything was connected there and you had to really think in which order to visit the rooms. Beating it was so satisfying.

the most awful trick (harder than deceive scissors) is taking electron with space+arrow while you are running from faling stone. And it is used in some internal levels))

btw, in original supaplex poss go from under the stone and quickly return back

if you will run from falling stone by fits and starts, its poss to make its falling more slow.

Finished Mirror's Edge some time ago, and recently also finished a basik segmented speedrun, with TT of 64:29,49 (TT of baseline times is 75min) :] Some 20h playtime overall. The WR for glitchless single-segment speedrun is 42:11 :D

Here my Steam/Metacritic review:

Very enjoyable game, especially once you get used to the controls and movement mechanics. Those might feel a bit awkward initially, and will take a few hours to get comfy with. Sadly, the game is so short that after those few hours you're likely near the end of the game, but it's worth replaying in the speedrun mode! Trying to go through the levels as quickly as possible pushes you to exploit the basic movement mechanics and can be a very fun and rewarding experience. Tip: watch the speedrun videos on youtube after finishing the game, they're amazing!

The electronic soundtrack makes for a pleasant background, but the story and dialogues are rather disappointing.

Overall, a pretty fun game for a couple of weeks.

Time for an update. Finished since Mirror's Edge, so in the last month and 3 days:

Medal of Honor (2010)
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Amnesia: Justine (DLC for The Dark Descent)
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
Whispering Willows
Burnout Paradise
Metro 2033 Redux
Metro: Last Light Redux

Not sure if I'll bother writing reviews or making ratings, maybe at some point. In short:

Amnesia TDD is fucking amazing and easily the scariest thing I've played (most intense in terms of atmosphere), the Justine DLC also very much in the same style. The sequel is so bad it's literally incredible. It doesn't even look like an alpha version of the original. 90% of the cool/unique game mechanics removed, and the story completely ridiculous and unengaging. The Dark Descent is unmissable if you like horrors, but A Machine for Pigs is a waste of time, unless you're a completionist =D

Medal of Honor pretty meh. Just a generic shooter, nothing exceptional in it, but not overly annoying too.

Whispering Willows my first proper platformer (that is, not worms and not elma). Enjoyed it quite a lot, which encouraged me to try another platformer, but nothing exceptional I guess. Very short too (some 3h).

Burnout Paradise - had quite high expectations for teh and was craving a "racing" game for some time, but was pretty disappointed with this. Can have some fun crashing cars and trying to find gak to destroy around the map, but overall rather unentertaining. Very low sense of progression, extremely repetitive... Just not for my I guess

And the best for the last... Metro is fucking amazing. Like, literally. The atmosphere, the immersion, the visuals (lighting!!), the realism of guns and other equipment... A couple of the best games I've ever played, period. Not perfect, both have some shortcomings, but they're still really great, especially given the low budget. Not really horrors, so can still play if you don't like being scared. Fantastic atmospheric shooters. Highly recommended to anyone who likes getting immersed in a great game. Also, definitely go after the Redux versions, as they're pretty heavily reworked (especially Metro 2033, as it was reworked to Last Light standards).

Brilliant game. Perfect for my brain. Total mindfuck at first, but once you've unlearned all previous game conditioning and you catch on to what the game is doing it becomes only about logic and perception. Highly recommended to anyone who likes puzzle games.

Also, does anyone know if there are any other games that I would enjoy based on this?

I also played Antichamber at my friends place. It was so satisfying to figure out some of the puzzles!

Kinda similar to Portal games but I liked it a lot more somehow

The artwork is brilliant.

well you could always try deadly rooms of death games, specifically the city beneath and the second sky. It's worth a shot because if you happen to like DROD games, you're gonna be entertained for hundreds of hours. There's plenty of people in the elma scene that love those games, so it's possible it'll fit your mind as well.

Trackmania is very nice for höyling imo, although I guess most mans here have already played it. They also have similar system with 5-minute battles or some 10-20 minute cruise battles (depending on server). Sadly it's the same levs being played, so after a few days you've played them all. Can always höyl internals too, but many of them have dirt/grass and tbh that's the worst part of that game. Ruins the whole thing. Ungrass/undirt levs = fun imo.

I played Trackmania for maybe 5 years. It is a very nice höylable game, although it's a bit more buggy than Elma. At the top level you get annoyed by the curbs of the road (in Stadium environment) because the car randomly jumps from those. Also a "no-slide" is very common and irritating and may be consequence of a bug, although usually it's your own fault. Other environments than Stadium are not so fun. But Nadeo (maker of the Trackmania) killed the game by making Trackmania 2 which wasn't anymore free-to-play as the first version of the game. Dirt in Stadium environment is the worst part of the game, I agree. Grass is a bit lol.

But it's not true that everyone would play same levels. There are tournaments like ESL where new tracks are played every week. That means that you have to train quite a lot if you want to learn the tracks. There is also a map editor where people can design their own maps (yes, I have designed many many maps myself too).
