Don't worry, he wasn't wasted. Fell on keyboard and found his way into mouth in less than 5 seconds. Basmati is pretty great rice.Igge wrote:yes, i noticed( Moment of silence for fallen rice(

Potatoes and some cream sauce? Looks delshgiuhchus. I'm wandering what those bits among the peas are. Guessing they're not chicken or pork.

Re: Cook-Off Challenge
Pasta with spinach a la creme and one onion, with some more creamcheese, normal dutch cheese and lots of curry. All secretly hidden under that pasta. Was quite tasty eventhough very simple,
Re: Cook-Off Challenge
hey guys this is not a pasta-with-random-sauce challenge !!
i'd like to see more evolved cooking
for example right now i'm making a cake with leeks, dried tomatoes and feta. This kind of cake is interesting because:
- it's always good
- you can imagine your own recipes, based on your fridge contents
- it is ok to eat it several days after you made it
- often it's even better, warmed, the day after

Re: Cook-Off Challenge
That sounds good! Last week I made a huge bowl of soup with onions, leek, rice, pasta, chicken (drumsticks), and pork. I ate it for 5 days in a row and it got constantly better! No photos, sorry.
Re: Cook-Off Challenge
I usually try to go for quantity as well, as making food for an entire week saves a lot of time and money. Made this yesterday, but couldn't be bothered uploading pic then, but I guess since you mentioned this I might as well do it now. What I do then is try to vary sauce or whatever I have on this food, maybe one day sweet and sour, next i go with pesto. Third day something else, you know, just to spice things up.teajay wrote:That sounds good! Last week I made a huge bowl of soup with onions, leek, rice, pasta, chicken (drumsticks), and pork. Also, that's pretty much the only good thing about living in Sweden during wintertime; you can store any amount of food on the balcony (as the temperature outside is close to that of a refrigerator) in order to save space in the real fridge.

Re: Cook-Off Challenge
looks very good, i guess you could try to make a pizza out of it (not rice obviously). You have an oven ?
Re: Cook-Off Challenge
I do, and that's a great idea! I probably won't be doing it this time, however, as I will be gone during the weekend, and I can't be bothered making it during a weekday since it takes some time to make dough etc, but I will definitely keep it in mind the next time I make something similar.totem wrote:looks very good, i guess you could try to make a pizza out of it (not rice obviously). Btw, what if we made a poll in this topic where people could vote for the best dish of the month or so? This might inspire some to make even better food, and also taking pictures of teh and explaining what it is. This way I think this thread could be a nice source of inspiration for when you don't know what to make for dinner ("Oh, I'll just make whatever won last month, that dish looked sweet!"

Inspired by a sandwich from a local convenience store, which is amazingly good, however this did not turn out as well as I had hoped. That's chicken btw.

Re: Cook-Off Challenge
Delivering traditional Christmas ham picture tomorrow, post your holiday foods here!
Edit: So here it is. 12 hours in a baking oven with around 150 Celcius starting temperature gradually cooling to around 100. After that I removed some of the fat and did a mustard and breadcrumb coating finishing it off in the oven.
The taste is always good and it really makes Christmas, at least for me.
