Cook-Off Challenge

Post by 8-ball »

I challenge y'all gourmet niggas to a cook-off!

May the best culinary artist win.

My first efforts consist of a smooth butter-fried chestnut mushroom-egg-veggie rice with oven baked chicken nuggets and assorted leaf and gherkins salad dressed in extra virgin olive oil. Paired with a choice of a smoothie or the universal can of coke.

I'm a simple cook, and lately I've been eating more outdoors than at home. Tonight I made rice with mince, blended five tomatoes and 2 carrots as sauce, with a huge spoon of sambal oelek and sliced leek. My father liked it, but it was not that good in my opinion. Next time I cook something I'll try to remember to take a pic. Looks yummy, by the way, 8b.

Pork Cheeks with sautéed potatoes, leeks, and lettuce

Sear 3 pieces of pork cheeks quickly in a pan, brush it with mustard, and put it in a casserole

Image

Let it simmer 2 (or better: 3) hours, and savor

Image

Served with a pelforth (I had soft white wine but prefered a beer).
Cheese is waiting next to the plate :)

Bon appétit !

fried tofu 2 x 20 = 40
squash = 3.27
leek = 8.97
eggplant = 11.17
broccoli = 10/2 = 5
soybean sprouts 15/3 = 5
rice ~ 10
spices/black bean garlic sauce/soy sauce etc ~ 10

total = (40+3.27+8.97+11.17+5+5+10+10) = 93.41sek ~ $12.5

$12.5/7 ~ $1.8

$1.8 per meal counting all expenses, even spices and whatnot (probably a bit exaggerated too). Not too shabby, and very delicious)
