I tried it just now. Stopped playing after 15 minutes due to repetitiveness.

Yeah, this game is a real mystery to me. I played for like 5 minutes, thought to myself "well, this is pointless" and closed it. But I guess the reason people like it is some weird deep psychological stuff that's hard to put in words, so maybe even they can't really explain what's so addicting about it.

One thing is the achievement hunting, if you're the kind of gamer that enjoys finishing games 100%, another thing is the mathematical challenge of optimizing cookie production, especially now with v2 there's a lot of different upgrades that you can't have all at once, so there's some strategy there. But it's the kind of game where you need to spend some time understanding it, before you can enjoy the strategic part of it, so just playing five minutes it will indeed seem pointless. Then just seeing your numbers get higher and higher can be fun. Also I like having games where you can just play a little now and then while doing other things at the same time. Last few days I've played SWTOR on one screen, cookie clicker on half of 2nd screen and watched twitch on 2nd half of 2nd screen at same time.
