Heh, I had a long period in my life when I would listen to Reizoko Cj every day. Still my 2nd most scrobbled artist on last.fm. Impsy delicious breakcore.

That stuff is just boring repetitive background humming with chill +0 attribute, if whange real chill then one needs to go no further than Pink Floyd's Shine on You Crazy Diamond

Let's keep blanket statements out of this thread, k.
Perception of the same music obviously varies from person to person, we get it.
Just hoping more people share some interesting findings.

If some of you ever played the game Sequence, maybe you know Ronald Jenkees. I don´t usually listen to this kind of music, so orka categorise them into dubstep/electronic/chillstep, i have no idea what it is, but here are some I particularly like:
Guitar Sound
Loui
Syara (edit: not working anymore :()

Loud Pipes
Wildcat

Basically first two albums are epic, haven't listened to third yet.

There are also generic channels with chill electronic music everyone knows about, but in case someone doesn't know about them, here's this or this playlists for eggzamppel. That fucker keeps adding weird songs to the chill ix playlist and rearranging them, so a 100% norm palyliust turned into like 30% one, but stil listenabl.

EDIT: and many poe streamers used to put this guy on repeat for months, som oke chill mixes there. I dont realy enjoj sach music but had to listen and adapt when watched streams in background while grinding solaris on my sumoner back in the days.

nice tropic.
i guess defining chill is kinda hard. it becomes clear to me that it's very subjective when i see you listing stuff like fuck buttons heh. so i tried to not pick too much stuff that would probably make others just fall asleep, which i could go on doing forever. but i feel like this is a nice mixed bag.
most of these artists are generally chill, a couple of them i chose just for this one tune.

bowery electric
brian eno
manuel göttshing
manual
auburn lull
slowdive
ulrich schnauss
rythm & sound
cocteau twins
loscil
the caretaker
casino versus japan
july skies
enya
global communication
julianna barwick
william basinski
grouper
dean blunt
quiet village

When you posted this comment 2,5 years ago, I thought u were sarcastic. I didn't really dislike that music, but I refused to believe anyone actually listens to it. Now I listen to that artist and genre when chilling at home or at bus.
We had amazing talk about this subject with Insguy and mans at FEM2016. He played some noise and noisecore for us there (was it this album?) and ppl were laughing and were like "wtf is this". Meanwhile I was thinking - I wonder in how many years I'll start listen to it and what will come next.

Another very similar thing happened to my when I was a young teenager listening to power/speed/melodic metal and this chick told me, that she LOVES Behemoth and that she's going to buy a T-shirt for her and her mom (her mom was a metal fan too). I was like "ye, poser. You just want to look tough". After few years I realized how good they actually are.

Just wanted to share this thought, coz I remembered zweq's post today.

Hehe nice :) I don't really like that link too much, but I like igorrr. Imo thoughts/brain work the same way as breakcore for some people. When I tried meditation a lot, I noticed my brain is sometimes like a radio where channel changes once every 2 seconds, just like breakcore.

Same thing happened to me with king diamond. I used to show it to ppl at work and say "lollll check out his vocals they're so loL", some time later I found myself listening to king diamond, and I continued to do so for couple of years, and it's probably top3 artists for me, although I haven't listened it for 1+ year.

I think breakcore like Reizoko Cj is one of the most interesting and enjoyable types of music to listen to (if you like electronic sound). There is just so much various stuff going on instead of same riffs or whatever being repeated again and again, it's like listening to 20-30 "normal" songs in a single track. Also since it's so random, there is a very high chance that you'll really like at least some parts. Then there is that awesome feeling when you've played the same insane song like 20 times and suddenly you feel like it forms into one consistent entity in your mind and you kinda start understanding why it's structured in that particular way, even though the author didn't really think about the things you're thinking. So much can be born even from total chaos if you examine it for a long enough time. And I guess I'm just a big fan of the remix culture in general, like how ideas from all over the world can combine and enhance each other. It's also very anti-copyright in its nature, which also excites me.

btw that guy is from Donetsk, the shittiest part of Ukraine to be in right now (that's where the war is). I think he already left but he's in a kinda bad situation financially. But I see he is posting on soundcloud again now, that makes me happy.

lolsy metal voices are usually still too much for me though.) Only like them in certain circumstances. (Pantera - Suicide Note pt.2 is epic I think)

Merzbow seems a little harsh for beginners. I enjoy "softer" noise. I really like stuff like Yellow Swans - Going Places. A little harsher but also very interesting is Kazumoto Endo - While You Were Out. In my opinion it's more approachable than Merzbow, maybe because it let's you relax a little more in between and is not just full-on harsh noise for one hour straight.

I used to listen to their entire discography during long learning sessions. A few weeks ago I saw them live. It was an interesting experienced, to say the least. I love Atilla Csihar's throat singing.

On the topic of noise, Fuck Buttons is really as close to noise as I can find enjoyable.

My fav tracks besides Olympians mentioned in first post:
Sweet Love for Planet Earth
Surf Solar
Brainfreeze
Flight of the Feathered Serpent

Other than that some noise rock like Lightning Bolt and Melt-Banana is fun sometimes and maybe twice a year I listen to this sick, sick avant-garde noise masterpiece:
Ground Zero - Consume Red

I use harsh noise mostly to stay awake if needed. It can be kind of enjoyable too but I rarely listen to any for other reasons than that.
then again i don't know anything
maybe easier not to think abouut alöl things thought than not things thought ... or something..=?
