Rest in peace avatar

Post by niN »

Today, about an hour ago my dear friend Kasper who we've all known and loved for so long was put to eternal sleep. He has been my avatar on this forum for as long as I can remember. It feels sad because he's been with me most of my life, and all of his life. We made some amazing memories together that I will cherish.

I though I'd tell you since you've all seen him around this forum for a long time. Peace out and Love!

stay strong dear nin, its nice that you let us know about loss of a part of our community.

i assume he was deadly sick, how old was he at the moment of death?
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Oh, I was always wondering if it's just a random cat pic off the internet or something personal. Shame that I had to learn about it like this.

I think if heaven exists, pretty much all pets must go there. They are always so nice and don't do any harm to anyone, living a 100% good life. We are very lucky to have them for whatever time is given.

RIP (always thought it was a fox but now on closer inspection it was a cat, quite mindblowing after all these years :O)

And then there is my tarantula Carl, that little bitch.

Condolences, niN.

Thanks for all the comments. Kasper was 18 years, so he was old and getting sick. He got really skinny the last year, and eventually his back legs stopped working. So it was like his body was just slowly shutting down. When we got him to the vet, his back legs were more or less paralyzed, and he had a fracture on his right back leg that we had no idea how it happened. So unfortunately there wasn't much to do except say goodbye. Natural causes which is comforting, yet I wish he could just live forever.

I have to say, it was really emotional and so much harder than I thought to see him die. Two injections, one to make him fall asleep and the lethal one after that... He slowly fell asleep and it was so strange to know that I would never see him wake up... I thought a lot about how relationships will effect our feelings. And how deep relationships we can have with any animal. Strangely enough. I really couldn't keep the tears back and it became very clear to me that love transcends race and kind.
