Imho mods should serve the community by:
- listening to players
- ask questions about new ideas to clarify things before crapping on them
- not be overly negative of new ideas based solely on their own opinions, they should let more people have a say before negativity flooding... as they have make decision for others
- they should welcome and invite community contributors
- and they should never ever flash the ban card early on when a new feature or contest has arisen... bans can come when there is damage, not when the mods only imagine there will be
so for flashing the ban card, pawq is banned in my book, until further notice
Should pawq be banned for abusing mod privileges?

thanks for the ban
Re: Should pawq be banned for abusing mod privileges?
I wanted to write a longer post, but as I see everything has already been said in #events. I don't think anyone should be cautioned here, but could you ribot please quote the line(s) where pawq threatened you with a ban?
Re: Should pawq be banned for abusing mod privileges?
I never did. Banning ribot was never even a thought, because there's no reason for it. I only said that his bot would be banned if it became too spammy, which I think is a fair warning given that it can potentially completely flood the chat. Apparently this constitutes abusing mod privileges now.
Re: Should pawq be banned for abusing mod privileges?
This is the exact quote:
@ribot if it's used often we'll simply ban it and that'll be that
and to get further to the point:
imo it'll be either: popular and extremely spammy, or: forgotten and unused, can't see a way for it to be a genuinely useful
So a more exact way to put it is that it will be banned if it will be used. And main point is that this shouldn't have been brought up the first minute something new is here. It says a lot about pawq's personality.
Re: Should pawq be banned for abusing mod privileges?
This is childish. You're blowing a tiny little incident out of proportion. Stop embarrassing yourself and go write some good code.
