Kuski of April 2006

Post by SveinR »

The voting will last until the end of May.
Suggest questions and candidates.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

petsen: This danish kuski started playing in July 2001 and has since made his mark on the scene as a prolific arranger of Elma meetings: He is the main man behind the DEM. He's not a bad player either: He recently made it into the 39 mins club. In addition to this, he updates the Danish Elma and Across Site.

Jarkko: Jarkko has really devoted himself into playing Uphill Battle the past months, and got his first ever WR in table #237 with 20:11, and then he broke it himself in the following table and got 20:10. The WR has since been beaten, but he keeps on playing the level and is just 0.01 behind the current WR.

jaytea: jaytea has really come together as a player the past year. He came 4th in Event 8 of WCup5, and in the total standings he finished on a 16th place. Later he has begun to dominate the Battle of the Month statistic, having made it three times in a row, from May to July, and currently has a stretch of seven in a row going on, from October to April. He now has won more battles than Markku, and in April played a staggering 919 battles (of which he won half).

Raven: Not long ago, Raven drove his first world record, on Precarious (24:41). Recently, he got his second WR, on Steep Corner (43:00). A constantly improving player who suprises us every now and then. He also drove a multiplayer world record with mr, which unfortunately didn't make it to the list. Raven comes from Finland and started playing on August 2003. His TT is in the 39 mins club.

Zweq: Undoubtedly on of the best kuskis to have ever laid his mark on the Elma scene. He was the first to break the 38 minute limit mark, has had 91 WRs of which 34 on different levels, 22 WRs in one table (#152), has held the oldest WR ever (Bumpy Journey, #128-#236), has had WRs on all tables since #109, has had countless multi WRs and was first to break 24 min limit in Combined TT, won WCup503a and came 2nd on WCup510. He recently got his TT into the 36 minute club, and first won KOM in April 2003.

Did I forget something important about one of the candidates? Tell me in this thread or by PM.

Just to check what he did win for three years ago:
KOM April 2003 thread wrote: Zweq: A new super star who is rising in the amount of wr improvements and already third in the total times list. He has invented several new outstanding styles. And he's still keeping on.
He got his first WR in January 2003, so he's done quite a lot of stuff since then.

Of course jaytea, not only is he a truly skilled player with a magnificent sense of humour, but he is one of my best irl friends and in many ways an inspiration to me. He personally introduced me to this game, and has been my mentor ever since. I remember I used to browse through his stats (adding up to about 54 mins) and just be amazed at how easily he improved. And I was with him when he first made the Freefall shortcut with a time of 12:41, which he soon improved to 3rd best time in the world. And I was with him when he hoyled the world cup 5 levels, in particular I remember witnessing him drive his time which ended up 4th in wc508. I also recall him waking me up from his bedroom floor to laugh at me as he had just beaten my wc504 time, just 20 minutes before the deadline. And in more recent times, I've stared over his shoulder as he repeatedly defeats the competition in #battle. The guy to me is fast becoming a true Elma legend, not just for his skills but more his all-round uniqueness and estranged following. So I feel he is the most deserving candidate for KOM, although I understand other peoples' reluctance to do so, since they haven't lived through the becoming of jaytea as I was fortunate enough to do.

Having said that, Zweq is one of, if not my number one idol. He thoroughly deserves to be recognised for his greatness at every opportunity, and consequently I would otherwise have no hesitation in voting for him here. I could rave on and on about Zweq, but I think I already did it in a topic in General.
