Apples in FF battles

Post by Orcc »

FF battle results are updated once you finish or die. In apple battles the results are updated in real-time. Shouldn't that be the case in FF battles too? Now when you lead FF and reach impsy spot and spend minutes trying to get past it, you will lose your leader position once Pawq reaches the same spot and escs instantly. Sounds unfair to me

it's like with left alo, you take away the difference between mirrored levs

now with this you take away the possibility of tactical esc

if you want start 'real time ff' just start an apple battle (countdown is there?)

BUT WHAT ABOUT TACTICAL ESCAPE?? AFTER ALL IT'S USEFUL IN LIKE 1/100 FF LEVELS AND USUALLY ONLY IF THE LEVEL IS CRAP BUT THAT'S BESIDE THE POINT!!

this is not very gamebraking, but it could help in problems like orcc said. I say: yes, implement it.

also tactical escape is abusing the current system and is very lame in its nature (i.e. you were slower than other people but you take first because you gave up before them)

A true tactical escape is leading and escaping)

Maybe a bit far to say it abuses the system. Sure it's cowardly and lame, but it's a a chance you can choose to take, the spot might end up being not so hard afterall and 10 people comes further after you did it.

But I do agree that this functionality would be nice.

Another point is that you might need to give up finishing the lev, if you run out of battle time and rather want the win instead of finish.

Any chance for this? I can't remember seeing this poll before, but I think it would be great to have it this way, for all the reasons brought up by Orcc.

Also,

I'm sooo insulted here

I guess this goes into a similar category, but what about apples disappearing when taken by someone when you're spying them? It's impsy to follow the leader in e.g. a big FF AH level, I think it would be max!

To be honest I quite like tactical escaping. I guess it does much more harm than good but I think I will miss it if it goes away. It's just a very amusing and cute idiosyncrasy that you don't usually see in other games. Like imo it's kinda funny when in an impsy looking FF with no apples Zero immediately presses esc and says "gg".

It doesn't count as a win if all people have 0 apples, though.

Maybe it could be an option, but they should disappear by default imo. Anyway, just hinges on mila/Smibu/someone, not Kopa.
