Best WR in #124: Apple Harvest
Best WR ever: mengerles old school Uphill Battle (21:67)
mengerle had it for 49 Tables and as I know.. no one have beaten it with old style.. Is it even possible? :)

I guess you mean Old School Hill Legend, not Uphill battle...
Upjill battle doesn't have an old school

Yes it has...
Old school = "bounce" up to the higher part before uphill
New style = brutal volt up to the higher part before uphill

Warm Up indeed, but labyrinth is not very good imo, with a good bounce you get much speed and then you can drive insane times.

Lotsof people say that Downhill actually isn't that good.
Joni's Upside Down was a great style, but not very höyled.
psy's AH can't be the best, since he keeps improving it all the time. He has said himself that under 1.30 would be good.

Loop-de-Loop looks pretty insane to me.

Im quite sure that those people havent seen the rec as Im pretty sure Its not spread.. I have seen the rec and I think its a very good rec.

Let me rephrase: They say that it can be improved, which is the same as saying it's not good enough, which is almost the same as saying that it's bad.
All wr recs are good, of course. There's no such thing as a bad world record, only less good world records.

Nostrada had 39.1x (?), I think he said that his rec had a bad end.

[00:26:00] <vn> at least downhill WR is bad
[00:26:02] <vn> I have see n48 rec
[00:26:05] <ciphEM> :O
[00:26:08] <vn> easy 2 seconds
[00:26:13] <ciphEM> whats n48.rec?
[00:26:19] <vn> nostra

[00:27:56] <vn> ....didn't I just say? :o
[00:28:02] <vn> "nostra"
[00:28:11] <ciphEM> oh ya

[21:40:18] <Nostrada> uhm, it's one of teh ezest wr's
[21:40:25] * Gorkki has quit IRC
[21:40:28] <Karlis> what legv
[21:40:35] <Nostrada> downhill
[21:40:55] * Stag has joined #across
[21:40:57] <Nostrada> my :1x wasn't even with the fastest pajen style
[21:41:52] <Jalli_EMA> publish :P
[21:41:58] <Nostrada> i HAVE
...
[21:44:38] <Nostrada> it's EZ 48 for those who have höyled downhill

In conclusion: Downhill is good, but not best.

I see your point, and I agree.. but I have to respond when you say that a improvable wr is almost the same as a bad one.

Look at Pipe, pipe wr is very easy to beat.. if you fix the new style, that no one has.. because its so damn hard, and the fact that downhill wr has been up for 50 tables must say that downhill is a very hard map to take wr on to.. not because of the fact that pajens wr is perfectly driven in anyway, but just the fact that the lev must be very hard to drive fast.. or might just that no one plays it.. though, I really think people plays it as much as other levels.

New style on Pipe? I must've missed that.

Anyways.
My point is not that any wr that can be improved is bad, but rather that a wr that you can very clearly tell can be improved, is "bad".
It's a fact that Downhill actually has been beaten, and like I said, Nostrada had a bad end. So bad that he could have gotten under 49.
When we can clerly tell that a wr can be improved almost half a second, it can not be the best wr. It can be the sickest style, the sickest run, but it's not höyled enough.

magnus he meant the bounce in the start abula posted @new styles topic.

i've talked with nostrada about 48:

[21:51:02] <antz[Q]> didn't u have better 48 wr than pajen? how much was it better and how much of it was cheated or could u have gotten wr without cheating?
[21:52:13] <NostGone> answers: i had, 2x better approx, none cheated, says itself, also, i used WORSE style than pajen, 48, or maybe even 47 is possible

suppose no1's just hoyled it enough.

Yes, but that's not the point.
The timescale cheat that he used doesn't make it possible to do anything that's not possible without the cheat (well, in actuality it probably does), it just makes it a lot easier to play. Everything Nostrada has done can also be done without the cheat.

lol.. thats a terrible exempla, "everything He did can be done".. ye but thats not the point at all.. Its still a very lousy exempla.. a cheated WR, dont even bring it up.. If downhill would be a very bad and ez wr someone should have taken it long time ago. End of story :)

And just for the record, I really dont think Downhill is one of the top10 WR's.. but I really dont think its bad

What are you talking about now? This is not an example, it's a fact. If it's possible to do something once in elma, it's possible to do it again.
I have the rec (Nostrada released it), and it's a very possible run. It's brilliant, sure, but it's definitely possible to copy without cheats (I'm not saying that I could do it).
oizo wrote:If downhill would be a very bad and ez wr someone should have taken it long time ago. End of story :)
When did I ever say that Downhill was very bad and easy to take? I said that it was possible to take, and therefore not good enough. Just forget that stuff I said about a not perfect wr being a bad wr, that's not what I meant.
Why no-one has taken the wr yet, I have no idea. I'm just saying that it's possible, and a lot of people seem to agree with me.
oizo wrote:And just for the record, I really dont think Downhill is one of the top10 WR's.. but I really dont think its bad
I can see here that we actually agree, so let's just drop the subject. Downhill is not a bad wr, but because it's not höyled enough it's not one of the best.

Actually, as far as I know, the world record is driven without that fast start. So if someone could do it, at least 1.16.XX is possible 8O

Anyway, would'nt it be boring if all the WR-styles were known? Now we can all sit around and wonder about these mysterious styles

1.Impossible to say what is hardest to break if u dont know all the styles for all wr's.
U need to know them all and have hoyled them all to know personally how hard they are. But if u take it in account whether u have the style or not, then of course those are hardest for u that u dont have the exact style. Then I would say that to the most people, Apple Harvest must be the hardest to break.

2.Whats the WR that will last on the table the longest. Then its not apple harvest maybe, because 1 kuski with ability to go for WR on it, is enough, and this case the probability that psy makes another record on it, is bigger than new wr on some other levels.
I just guess and say Warm Up,because everyone knows the style and the current WR has stayed on the table pretty long period. Although it seems there is a small warm up boom among elmers, but if this boom doesnt produce a wr from someone, then warm up wr by darm grows stronger :-)

3. the most impressing WR now and in the past. Yehh..need to have seen all the WR recs to be certain on this one. The WR can be most impressing even if it can be beaten ,like apple harvest. I havent seen it! But it looks like its very impressing, but as the level is long and hoylable from pixel to pixel it can be beaten i guess. And the recs i have seen the uphill battle by mengerle with old style was impressing.

Maybe there are now some WR on the table that has a hidden status that will reveal as the time goes on, meaning that some of the current tables not so well known WR will stay there and stay and stay. ...

Guys with 38.xx and 39.xx totaltimes are in the elite of examining the WRs sicknesses and comparing them, but thats my point of view with lame philosophy.
