[MOVIE] + Master Cup 2 coming

Post by jonsterion »

Yes, 1 year after TAP´s first cup contest, the second edition is coming around this summer. We have more than half of the levels ready, but as you know levels aren´t everything. We still need a new site and think about the organization. We would like to make it a bit different than Master Cup so we thank you all your ideas and shared thoughts! :)
We still don´t know how many levs will be in but it will be similar to MC. (1 lev per week, around 14 levels)

In case you haven´t checked here is the site for the previous cup:
http://koti.mbnet.fi/mstrcup/index.htm

EDIT: Here is the new site for Master Cup 2:
http://koti.mbnet.fi/mc2/

MASTER CUP 2: The Trailer

This is a short presentation movie made by me, jonsta. It was made in 1 day (about 10 hours). It shows some random TAP levels + old Master Cup levels. It also includes some footage from new MC2 levels but, as you imagine, we can´t show much of the level ;).

INFO:

Programs used
:
First of all, the software I used was very restricted and the movie wasn´t made with all of those leet programs :P

constfps (30fps pcx)
Movie maker (compiling all video, music and image)
Fraps (in-game sound and bmp screenshots, also some video capturing)
Video Match (pcx to avi)

Lenght: 2:13 min
Size: Aprox. 26 MB

Song used:
Marilyn Manson - Seisure of power

Although the video is ready (thanks to jonsta), don't expect the actual cup to be started too soon... we have still lot to do. Maybe starting in summer or in autumn.

At the moment we are (or at least I am) waiting for 8-ball, Juble and devan to make their levs ready. Jonsta is on a holiday now for few weeks, but I think everything should be ready at the beginning of July, and I think the cup could start then. We have already half of the levs ready. And the site is done quickly if we use the same framework as in mastercup 1, I think.

Come on 8-ball&Juble&devan, what's taking so long???????

MC2 closer than ever!
We have the levs ready now, 4½ levs from me, ½ levs from 8-ball, 3 levs from jonsta, 3 levs from jallax and 1 from Sowjet.

Site not up yet, will be some day.

As Einstain stated it, E = mc² (energy = mastercup2) :)

Mastercup site finally up! See the link below.

http://koti.mbnet.fi/mc2/

So it's starting in 2 weeks. Let's make a good cup :)

btw, some russian kuski could advertise this also in some russian page, so we would get more participants and axxu&mp would get some more challenge :)

you can skip the longest levels

remember that the limit times are relatively bad, best time will be much better in each level. But yes, there are much long levels. We don't want to make this another mopocup or something where existed only basic battle levels. And we should remember that all of the players are getting better all the time so longer levels are better choise.

in fact, there are two levels which best time would probably be in 15-30 secs, levels 4 and 12. And they will be only a few days long.

in rules-page there are points which are given in each level.
As you can see, 50 first players will get points.
This means that it's very easy to get points, just remember to send in.
And there won't be 50 players in each lev, that's pretty sure because there weren't in mastercup 1 either..

and yeah, seriously, AKB is really surprising me. He's doing way better than i'd have expected... Hope he won't beat me.
