I'd say because of the intimate community around it. If that didn't exist, I don't think I'd play much.
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

actually i don't really have a specific reason, if i think of it now, it's because i enjoy playing it. very often it happens that i just open some old set of levels which are eg. not anymore hosted for times or anything. actually, it doesn't even matter what levels to play, just to get to play something.. it's so.. relaxing. that's the very main reason. it results all kind of other stuff, beating times, community etc

it gives me time to think about things. my problems in my life etc. i often think about things that have happened that day and that week. most of all though it helps me think about my gf. it kinda gives me a chance to think about stuff i otherwise wouldn't.

Cruising is relaxing and entertaining. Competiting and belonging to the community is fun.

Elasto Psychic Help?

Post by Vaitork »

Wow, it seems that Elma is more than a game for höylas around... 8O

It's absolutely NOT boring... I've prefered to play Elma rather than some other good new games.

It's Simple. That's why it has such a massive success.

"Why do you play elastomania?"
What a stupid question.
It's the best bloody game since sliced bread. Sliced bread being a groovy fps in which you must seek out and kill unworthy loaves of bread and...

Playing Elma has a strange feel to it. One that I've never experienced in any other game. I think it's the smoothness of the movement coupled with the ingenious simplicity. There's something wonderful about that feeling you get when you do something sick in elma, much more so than when you do an equally sick thing in i.e. an FPS.
Some things you can't explain, this is one of those things.

1. It's more than a game, its a community, etc
2. fun, 'relaxing', frustrating, gives you a sense of achievement
3. To become better! Lower tt and stuff
4. because of its pure greatness

Oh yeah, and mopoism is a way of life :D

I guess I play it cause I am Dumb.
Still I must admit there are days I really enjoy playing... and when I enjoy it it dont feel like waste... Joy is (almost) allways good. Too bad fun Elma days comes more and more seldom
Good moment was when I read Balazs interview... last question... aaaah... so sweet... I juts hope...

Good reason to play is not to loose the the touch when the possible new version comes

I like beating times! They're mostly my own times but that doesn't matter. as long as sometimes "Best Time" appears on the screen I'm happy.

I play because of the intimacy of touch in the gameplay. It feels good to play and I'm addicted. Kind of. Only if I think about it.

I think currently is longest streak of not playing elma for me, not sure how long, maybe few weeks. Game doesn't go past menu if I have HDMI cable connected to tv. Even if it takes like 10 seconds to plug it in/out its has been enough for me not to start elma, funny how such small thing has made me stop.
