What's Your Vertical?

Post by A.K.B. »

Just wanna know, are you a measly shite jumper, or good? I measured my jump today, and with a running start, I have an 87cm vertical (34.25inch or 2.85feet)

I mean, like this, here's how you measure:

Reach as high as you can on a vertical black board or wall and mark it with chalk (stretch right to the end of your fingers) then jump as high as you can and scratch the chalk as high as you can whilst still holding it. Your vertical is the difference.

high jump is where you jump over the bar, prolly 2m for me this year, that's where you got mixed up Juski, or maybe you didn't extend your arm before you measured. If you can't do a honey dip* on a 10 foot basketball hoop with a 1m vertical, you just simply don't have 1m vertical.

honey dip is where you put your forearm through the hoop and hang.

i think i was around 50 about 8 years ago (when i was 11 years old) but, long time since i've tried again... guess i didn't improve much because i'm having trouble touching a 10 foot basketball rim (i'm 5. 11)

yes akb i didnt get what you said. and xiphias plz stfu, your whining like a girl. When you said vertical i thought just jump straight up, and like that i can ez get my feet more than 1m over the ground.

But for the the real deal; i go out and ty teh soon. And when you say running start is it allowed to take a step on the wall and do some matrix?

EDITs:
Without matrix step: 55cm
With matrix step: 80cm

this was without any particular warming up, can probably do 87cm if i warm up etc :P
