Isn't 'Daim' with an 'i' pronounced exactly the same as 'Dajm' with a 'j'?John wrote: Dime (daim)...is it good now???????
EDIT: had to chose btw daim and dajm....I dont know why...
In other words, isn't 'Dajm' pronounced 'Daim'?
I don't know how to be any clearer.
<Fihlvein> another case of zworqy-is-always-right closed i guess
<yoosef> zworqy doesnt suck at anything

The times ive been to the danish elma meetings or when ive just visited GuyB and Rigger... we used the nicks....devin wrote:ribot, now that you mention it, I have never spoken Abula's name aloud yet.
That brings me to another thought, when you guys are at meetings (or just talking in person) do you use their nicks or their first names?
Sorry ribot for any offense of me speaking your name wrong in my thoughts. I will now call thee robot.
and also IRL im called petsen becuz its a contraction of my last name PETERSEN, which in my danish dialect becomes petsen, and how to pronounce it? well lookie here 'peytsen' with 'pey' like when u -pay- something, and 'sen' with the 'e' like in -men-... very easy
btw, my mother gave me that nickname when i was a little boy
but then again, most ppl in Denmark who are have the last name PETERSEN, are called petsen or pets (not like an animanl pet!) fx my uncles name is Jens PETERSEN, and we call him pets but pronounce it like 'pits' ... like a tar-pit sort of pit sound
geez no more name pronounciation for today

my nick is pornounced just like el . Although one girl said that it is pronounced like el' (and that was after i called her a pig , and that was after she came into CS clan "three pigs" (or something like that) and i wanted her to go to my clan [LoL])
The fact that bob isn't banned proves that even Abula makes mistakes...

sorry for bring this topic up, but my name/nick is pronounce steve. nat pee steve. just steve. and i've always pronounced zworqy as zworgy and juble as jubes and dz as dizzy and...probably the best one... sierra as siria. said somewhere before but also pronounce tisjoris as tigoris (g as in gem, or english j sound where j doesn't equal y)
edit: and ANpDaD as annp-dad first 'a' is long, second 'a' is short, a p is almost silent, just a break really.

I like to pronounce my name in two different ways.
nÃÃN and niÑ you choose...
nÃÃN and niÑ you choose...
I decided to make a sound file of me pronouncing the nicks of a bunch of people: http://www.home.no/sveinrune/nicks.mp3
text: http://www.home.no/sveinrune/nickname.txt
I don't usually pronounce these out load though, most of them I've never said out load before in my life, so dunno if it came out exactly as it would "in my head". Also, some might be pronounced a bit differently depending on if I'm talking with/about them in Norwegian or English. But for the most part, what I say in that mp3 file is how I'd pronounce them. You'll find that there is no standard here, some I'll pronounce in a Norwegian fashion, others in English, and some with a combination ;S
You'll also hear me speak a little bit åo

First of all, <3 accent. "Svine R" eh? All these years I've been pronouncing it "sveyn ir", jaytea does the same.SveinR wrote:I decided to make a sound file of me pronouncing the nicks of a bunch of people: http://www.home.no/sveinrune/nicks.mp3

Secondly, some of those nicks I believe you pronounce incorrectly. When I met Fluff irl he told me that axxu is pronounced "ax uh", with the "uh" being said like the "u" in "under". We both agreed it was weird but apparently it's right. The way you said Bartek is perhaps correct in Swedish, but since it's a Polish name in origin, the "BA" should be the stressed syllable, the 'A' not so å, more like 'aaaaa' when you open your mouth. Lol @ 'MJX I I" also, I guess this is correct, though I always said it as "MJX 2". "mr" is pronounced more like "ämär", though I used to say "mister" as you do. "Tijsjoris" is obviously way off, it should be pronounced "tissioris" according to him.
I realize you probably don't care but my intellectual vanity prevents me from passing up an opportunity to appear informed.

correct me if i'm wrong bob but it should be 'mck-loud' in a very thick aussie accent should it not?
apart from that, all of those other names you did a pretty good job with! haha i dont even bother trying to pronounce half the people on that list, tijsjoris is one of the hardest i come across
long story short, good effort
