GÃ¼nter Grass - Hundejahren, very good read. I read the translation in dutch, because it's quite thick and german - dutch translations still work out (at times I can imagine how it's been said in german).
It's very broad and kaleidoscopic in its storytelling, also about an in my eyes interesting subject; danzig, 2nd world war and postwar germany events, all twisted so that the family and characters of focus have a decisive role in all the happenings. Definitely a good read.
