If you by final mean deadline for the third step, then it's Friday 09 January, 23:59 EET, and if you mean the 'results', then its in "early January"

Less than 3 days left to submit your votes!

Only 17 of a total of 34 eligible voters have submitted their votes so far, that's only 50%.

Duh, I'm not stupid. I asked when we get to see the top five. I would like to know whether I should prepare a speech or not. Maybe we don't get to see the top five until the actual event? I can't remember how it was the earlier times.

Previous times the top 5 hasn't been revealed until the final show. However, I think I'm going to change that this year, so I will infact post the top 5 after I've added the results together (in the middle of doing that now..). So you'll get to see it tonight or tomorrow.

ya congratz everyone. Looks like nIN and Zweg stole the show this year. Each took home 3 awards? I wasn't suprised by to many of the winners but wasn't sure what adi has done in the external scene as of late. I think I just am too out of the loop.

Some stats:

Most votes for one candidate went to Zweq for Internalist and Battler, he got 7 votes on each (one vote away from the highest amount possible).
Least amount of votes for a winning candidate went to adi for Externalist and Zweq for Achievement: These got 3 votes (the decider for both was more community points; adi won by more 4-pointers from the community).
Most 5-pointers from the community in the Third Step went to Zweq for Internalist, with 11 5-pointers.
Most votes for one candidate from the community in the Third Step went to Raven for Internalist, with votes from 21 people.
There was a draw in two categories: Achievement and Site. The number of community points was then of course the decider.
Zweq won the Internalist award for the second year in a row, the third time in total. He also won the Battler, Style and Achievement awards for the second years in a row.
Kopaka won the Site award for the second year in a row, but with a different site.

Speeches:

Start speech:

[17:00:53] <SveinR> 18:00 EET Greetings, welcome to the 6th annual Golden Apple Awards!
[17:00:53] <SveinR> This channel is +m so only operators and voiced people will be able to talk, use #across for free talk. Stupid nick changes will result in a ban.
[17:01:04] <SveinR> The are 16 categories and five candidates in each category. The candidates have been chosen by the jury and the community, click here for more info: http://mopolauta.moposite.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5965
[17:01:15] <SveinR> The jury consists of six members: axxu, John, Kopaka, SveinR, zebra and zworqy
[17:01:22] <SveinR> The winners are determined by community votes and jury votes. In the event of a tie, community votes matters.
[17:01:29] <SveinR> If I get disconnected and won't come back for an hour, the show will be postponed to the same time tomorrow.

16. Community Award, niN

[18:46:45] <SveinR> The Community Award is given to a guy who during the past year proved himself a great asset to the scene by the organizing of a cup. A cup which in every way was very well done. First of all he made 17 levels for the cup, all of really good quality, which problably is the most important thing for a good cup. It had an original idea: pair play, where two players play together and according to their combining points the worst pairs are eliminated
[18:46:56] <SveinR> The cup was unfortunately plagued by cheating. However, he handled the situation impeccably: He noticed the unrealistic replays and had them checked out, making it possible to remove the cheaters from the cup and have a proper ending without cheaters.
[18:47:08] <SveinR> People have also mentioned the fact that he is a great guy, always friendly and helpful, as a reason for voting for him.
[18:47:17] <SveinR> This is one of those guys who makes it possible for everyone else to enjoy the game and the scene, thank you and congratulations...
[18:47:56] <SveinR> niN!

[18:48:12] <nINball> my gosh
[18:48:21] <nINball> I am terribly chocked.
[18:48:33] <nINball> I haven't prepared a speech for this, but I guess I can thank some people
[18:48:56] <nINball> Kopaka, you've helped me a lot so thank you.
[18:49:06] <nINball> Everyone who voted for me: I love you
[18:49:26] <nINball> The fact that I got this award makes me wanna get right out to the scene and do more stuff.
[18:49:28] <nINball> Thank you!
[18:49:39] <nINball> done
[18:49:53] <nINball> oh
[18:50:12] <nINball> and also. if it wasn't for coc0k I wouldn't haev had this so I guess thank you in a way
[18:50:54] <nINball> that's it

End speech:

[18:51:30] <SveinR> This brings this year's Golden Apple Awards to a close
[18:52:15] <SveinR> A big thank you to all who voted, and thanks to the jury members
[18:52:28] <John--> np
[18:52:34] <SveinR> And of course, again, congratulations to all the winners!
[18:53:00] <SveinR> We'll meet again in about a year :)

Yeah, but I think the Jury gave some points themselves and therefore zweq got some extra points.. Or maybe a conspiracy started by John.. we know he's a new member of the jury!

Why don't people bother to read rules and descriptions before complaining?

That's not true. We all play belma quite a lot I think and I have seen zweq playing battles. It's almost unbelieveable how good his battle winning recs always are.

I have atleast played 1324 battles during 2007 and 2008 according to the stats. Sure, it's not impsy much, but it is about two battles each day averagely.

igge, what the hell is that supposed to mean?

Do you simply want to increase your post count or do you selfishsly enough think the jury is not part of the community?

I hope you simply had motor problems and couldn't handle the quote function,
otherwise i won't finish my sentence.

True, except you should separate points and votes. Raven got the most points from the community, so he gets 2 votes, Zweq got the second-most points so he gets 1 vote. And as you said, each jury member has one vote each (to use on whichever of the 5 candidates they prefer).

These votes are then added up, and the one with the most votes win. In the event of a tie, community vote matters.

BoneLESS: The jury is not part of the community (when it comes to voting, anyway).

SveinR: I know that, technically, the jury is not part of the community but they do have their word to say. It would be rude not to take in consideration what the jury has to say simply because they are part of the jury.

Especially when we all know that the jury members are some of the most implicated and well aware people in the scene.

PS: Sorry igge for my unnecessary rudeness, i sincerly apologize.
