Star Trek Voyager - 7/10
It's a nice timeconsumer and quite interesting scifi with the paradoxes and thought experiments (sometimes). Can't say a reason for why I'm not putting higher rating than this but I'm just following my gut feeling. Only seen season 1 but borrowed season 2 also.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. 7/10

Effects were cool, seemed to be a little bit shallow the whole way through though. they kept interrupting the story for a silly romance that was barely anything and the story itself wasn't that good. more attention to detail would have made this movie much better.

The day the earth stood still (1951): 9/10
Being from the 50s, i thought i would be snoring 30 minutes in the movie as i started it at around 23h30 but to my surprise, i was still wide awake at 1h00 in the morning. That movie was really captivating. The story is very nice, clever and quite innovative for its time (even for the 21rst century). The movie is about an alien named Klaatu who comes to us to "save the Earth". The general public is scared and the military forces try to capture him or/and even kill him. The movie is close to being a fable and in that way is quite beautiful.

The day the earth stood still (2008) : 5/10
Gosh, i was expecting a good movie based on my previous viewing but i was quite disapointed. The beginning was actually good but towards the middle of the movie, it seems like the story went downhill, leaving its place for special effects. The ending was miserable. Jaden Smith's character was very annoying. The only high-point in this movie for me was Gort, and they had to mess it all up for the last 15-20 minutes.

In summary, if you want to see any of those 2, check the first one out. Simply a great movie!

Sommaren med Göran - 5/10
Swedish rom-com having premiere in a few weeks and Peter Magnusson's screenplay-debut for a feature film. Semifunny but a bit too tame for my taste. I lolled two times only (both at "below the belt"-jokes ;p ). Still an OK movie, it's just that it's nothing special, it will fall in the same blurry memorybank as all these other average Swedish movies. On a sidenote, I would have picked the same girl as Göran ;p

Best Swedish movie I can think of just like that is Låt Den Rätte Komma In. See it if you haven't. It's even in the top250-list on IMDb.

Brüno - 5/10
Went to a sneak preview last night. Maybe I'm a bit harsh on the rating. The movie had some hilarious scenes but it also had several scenes which was pretty extreme ;p How this movie only got rating "11" in Sweden is beyond me. I will have to let 7 year olds inside if only they are with someone above age 18 (I work at the theatre where it was shown). Sure hope no one under 11 will see this. There are talking cocks, male and female nudity, air-oralsex with a passed away celebrity etc... You get the picture :p

Quantum of Solace (2008) : 6/10
Cute bond girls, nice cars, ye ye, we know. Sure, special effects are nice, especially in HD, blablabla. But the story was so boring that it just was an average movie for me. I mean, 2 days after seeing it, i don't really remember the storyline, neither do i remember liking this movie. There's a foot chase, a car chase, a boat chase, a plane chase... all done with great CG effects, but it really doesn't help making this movie great.

Oh, and there was not even a : "Bond,... James Bond", how disapointing.

I rewatched American Beauty yesterday, it's been at least 8 years since I last saw it. It's even more awesome than I recalled. Well acted, well scripted, interesting, deep, funny. I increased my grade from 9/10 to 10/10, now it's up there with my other favs:

"Band of Brothers" (2001)
Planet Earth" (2006)
9/11 (2002) (TV)
American Beauty (1999)
Apollo 13 (1995)
Elasto Mania (2000) (VG)
Forrest Gump (1994)
Hotaru no haka (1988)
Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
The Green Mile (1999)

Elephant 8½/10

Had no expectations and didn't have a clue what this movie was about. I just found out from IMDB that it is one of Tom Hanks' favorite movies and decided to donga it.

Anyway a great and kind of beautiful flick, tho some might not have the patience to watch it.

I recommend.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - 4/10
Yes, 4 out of 10... Couldn't remember what I had witnessed the moment the credits started rolling. Could be because no major event did occur. Could be because I just wasn't paying attention. Could be both. But when you see 153 minutes of a movie and can't remember shit it's not a good sign.

Big Fish (2003): 10/10
Simply put, one of the best movies i've ever seen. As Imdb would put it, the plot is "A story about a son trying to learn more about his dying father by reliving stories and myths his father told him about himself". Everything about the movie is beautiful; the story, the characters, the imagery. The father-son relationship is very moving and can only be surpassed by the gorgeous ending. That movie will make you smile and cry at the same time and you'll enjoy every minute of it.

Big trouble in little China (1986): 9/10
"An All-American trucker gets dragged into a centuries-old mystical battle in Chinatown". How can that storyline turn bad? Adding that Kurt Russell is the trucker, this movie is a treat. Throw in the mix some b-movie feel, with a strong asian influence, plus some over the top/nonstop action and you get a ton of fun. Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) is clearly the highlight of the movie in my opinion for the simple fact that he's badass and is just as lost as the audience is in this mystical world that is the San Fransisco chinatown. Adventure doesn't come any bigger!

Coraline - 7/10
I've been looking forward seeing this for quite some time now. It had indeed a great story and a nice characteristic atmosphere. Didn't know stop-motion could be so frightening at times :D
I had some problems with a few parts, felt like "get this scene over with already" (the performance by her neighbors for example). Without them I could have put a higher grade with clean conscience. Even Dakota Fanning, who I find really annoying anywhere else, was good (enough).

Les rivières pourpres (2000) - 8/10
I really liked the movie, it was thrilling and everything but sometimes just a little bit too confusing for me. And i think the end could've been better.

Les rivières pourpres II - Les anges de l'apocalypse (2004) - 7/10
Same like in the first part but the story was not as interesting as in the first part. Some scenes were confusing again and the end was shitty too.

I was highly motivated today so i watched four movies:

Fight Club (1999) - 8/10
Great movie and amazing acting from Edward Norton and Brad Pitt. But it was a bit too strange for me. :P

The Others (2001) - 7/10
The movie was nice and thrilling from the beginning on but in my opinion the story and these spooky ghost story were crap.

The Godfather (1972) - 3/10
I can't understand how anyone can think that this is exciting and "one of the best movies ever". I was really bored all the time, there were some really good scenes, maybe the film would've been okay if it was some 1 hour long, but not fucking three. I almost fell asleep in the end. Totally overrated movie in my opinion.

The Butterfly Effect (2004) - 10/10
Brilliant movie! I've seen it a few years ago but now I watched it again and I was amazed again. Great story, great actors and an impressive end with good music. Perfect!

A Clockwork Orange - 6/10
Overrated too in my opinion. The acting is great and the music is amazing, but the film is just too long.

The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane - 5/10

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) : 6/10
Michael Bay makes big movies with big CGI and big action. Nothing else. There is pretty much no twist, no solid storyline, stupid humor (which is sometimes effective, sometimes very bad... like 2 dogs having sex... literally). Still, i enjoyed the movie. It's a brainless summer blockbuster and if you put aside your common-sense, you'll most likely enjoy the movie. If you pay too much attention to the story, aka plot-holes festival, you won't enjoy the movie one bit.

My tip to you, see that movie in theaters with friends and leave the critic in you at the door, you will like this movie. (and yeah, megan fox is hot as hell, again!)

haha, kinda agree. She sure adds nothing to the movie but big bouncing breasts in slow motion on the big screen doesn't bother me! But i agree that i laughed so hard when she first appeared on screen fixing a super sport bike; seemed like it was taken from a girl/bike calendar.
