Most random reason for missing a good run

Post by Bismuth »

Hey, what just happened to me brought me the idea of starting this topic. Here, you tell us about the most random things that made you miss a good run. Here is my story, about 2 mins ago:

I was hoyling TEH01, and was going for a very, very good run (at least for me). I got past the hardest part of my style, it was going truly well, then, suddenly, I saw something weird right in front of me. A fly. And guess what? It went right in my nose. I fucked everything, dying and all, at the very end. You can bet this fly died shortly after. Now, it is very dead, lying in many different locations.

Voilà, find something more WTF that fucked an awesome run than this.

when i was playing level 1 of mopo kup 2 some years ago, i was just about to finish a decent run. i had my mouth open as i was quite excited to get a nice time. but with some seconds to go a bug flew in my mouth and i swallowed it.
it got what it deserved.
but i didn't...

i cant think of anyy, of course #ranks has ruined many rides but real dmg was done only twice (pipe lev and ff)

there's also this fairy tale that stini made 19.4x or such to enigma when wr was 19.62 but comp fucked up, restarted and some recovery thingie on startup reverted hd states back to old or smth, so he didnt have that time on state and rec had disappeared.

oh and akb made 9.52 steppes but damn those aliens

Was real close to my first finish of animal farm with a not-nab style. Eurotrip was on the TV next to me, and the scene with the chick rubbing her boobs kind of disracted me at the end, died in the fucking tunnel.

in the past my icq allways crashed when I was in elma (or some other fullscreen app) and someone with trillan came online (I think that was the reason) and that kicked me out of elma each time :\
That has ruined a lot of good runs until I stoped using icq while playing elma what meant I stoped using icq ;)
Other nice reason was to push the button of my pc (stands under the table) with my chair roll what causes windows to shut down...

My cousin has a weird problem with his computer: from time to time, it simply shuts down, bam, like that. It happened a few times to him to lose his state.dat when his computer shut down while he was closing elma. Talk about a shit to happen. It was probably swapping old/new and it shut down (by the way, it does it instantly, no windows shutting down and such) while old was deleted and new was not there.

I fuck up too often by pressing wrong key, like left rotate instead of right. Also a classic one is resting one finger on esc and then just accidentally having too much pressure on it.

Classic, Orcc! But usually for me it's the space bar, which does pretty much the same thing: fuck up.

one of the coolest ones i've witnessed was when i watched jamppa höyl ziggy semi-pro style for the first time.
half an hour after starting to höyl he finally had a decent 1.3x.xx run coming, i could tell he's adrenaline level was off the scale, hands shaking, he comes down to the last apple, turns around, mentally prepares for the pipe-ending starts throttling, brakes, alo !!!!BAMM!!!!

...automatic updates are ready for install :D

casualties: 1 keyboard
1 diskdrive

i laughed so hard ( luckily he got it on the next run)

exactly the same.

sometimes I coincidently hold down some button without knowing it .. e.g. doing two right volts instead of only one. =/

i have the same on some levs, had that on enigma for example ;x but i think its ok now

Ive just missed 55,high in bowling, which would be polish record, because of nerves, damn :x . My actual pr is 1,03,37 (ez 1337). So I entered bowling, and after 5-10mins made a very good run for me. After fast bounce and part after it i was thinking ''wtf max, I have to finish that!'' and, of course, fucked up like a nab :(

but i think some ppl have/had that too 8)

Same, nabbing with spying and others hidden/shown is maybe the most common reason to fak up a good ff run.

¤Phonecall
¤Golden Elma

And some years ago elma crashed quite often but that was only during the first 5-10 seconds in a run. Another problem I had earlier was that if I did a right volt and then pressed another button, it still did a second right volt before accpeting my choice of button. Very annoying, yes.

You can unmark that so it doesn't happens if you do like this:

1. Click "Start" in the left down corner on your computer, or whatever you renamed the Start button to.

2. Click "Run".

3. Type "msconfig" and it will come a new window with different things like Startup and Services and stuffs.
Click at the " Services " tab. Scroll down 'til you come to "Automatic Updates" and unmark it.

4. Click "apply" and than "ok" and than reboot your computer.

5. Tada! :D No more unlucky runs that makes you angry! ^^

Today in a hard long Nekit's FF I managed to get to a hard place after some 30mins of playing. Then I wrote to the chat "finally got here" but I guess I did press enter too early because for me E is alo and when wrote "...herE" it counted the press for alo too and I fell down and never got up again =)
