Kind of incorrect to say that you're 1/4 this and 1/4 that because your grandparents were from here and there. Since you're suggesting that you're not 100% New Zealander, who's to judge anyone's nationality ("nationality" here is the wrong word, I know)? Do you become 100% of some nationality when you make offspring, or what? Errm... Okay, pointless rant.

My relatives come from Eastern and Western Finland, so I guess I'm a mixture of Russian and Swedish. My last name "Hermans" suggests Belgian heritage or something, but actually my great-great-grandfather just wanted to have a nicer last name than "Jäärä" (literally means "stubborn") so he changed it to "Hermans."
then again i don't know anything
maybe easier not to think abouut alöl things thought than not things thought ... or something..=?

My surname is common on Iceland so wouldnt be surprised if my ancestors on my father's side came from there. My grandfather (on mom's side) did some research and went back to 17th or 18th century but still seems all of them came from Sweden.

My grandfather made extensive research on both my dads and moms side. All my ancestors are from a relatively small area near here. So I am 100% Swedish, a true viking

I think my mother's side is pretty much 100% Swedish for a couple of generations as least. My grandpa and grandma on my fathers side were/are from Ukraine.

I am partly german and belgian, but mostly plain dutch (if that exists). From my outlook though you can clearly see the spanish ancestor who did a cheat with a great-great-grandmother of mine; I look a bit andalusian. Funny thing too is, that when I was in Romania, everyone looked like me.

Maybe my parents adopted me from Romania, and are all romanians actual children of ceaucescu.
