2012 3/10

Unbelievably predictable. Always thought in my mind "the land between them will crack separating them" etc and yup, it always did. Overly self-repetitive also, felt like watching the same scene in a different location all over again.

cgi was nice tho

American Splendor 7/10

Something different for sure.

imo one of the most jaw dropping/spine tingling pieces of music ever written. Play loud.

Les femmes de l'ombre 5/10
Decent acting I guess. Somewhat intriguing story. Was pretty annoyed by the actionsequences tho, how they shoot from the hip, how trained german soldiers are running around like chicken in the open (instead of covering) getting shot, obvious fakebeatings etc. Quite the turnoff.

Strong 6. The humour was great, never taking a break, whole theatre laughing constantly. The setting could have been better, politics etc is not my cup of tea.

Oldboy (2003): 10/10
Well, this was pretty much my introduction to Korean movies and i was totally blown away! I had wanted to watch this for a couple of weeks now and i'm so glad i finally took the time to watch this film. Brutal and poetic at the same time, this movie truly has a great message and if you can get passed the violence and the very adult themes, this movie is totally incredible. The dialogues are clever, the score is beautiful, the photography and imagery are out of this world. The story is a great tale of vengeance and guilt, somehow reminding me of the old classic tragedies. Truly one of the best movies i've seen from this decade.

Inglourious Basterds (2009): 9/10
Another movie i've been wanting to see for quite a while. Received it on last Christmas and only had the chance to watch it this weekend. A funny thing about this one is that as much as i've heard about this movie, I never really knew what the story was (besides the fact that a group of guys were killing nazis) and i was quite impressed with it. Every chapter of the movie felt new and refreshing. The different characters were all great and brought something to the table; from Brad Pitt's humorous tones to Christoph Waltz's ridiculous acting. Overall, a very strong movie.

Låt den rätte komma in (2008): 8/10
Too bad i don't understand swedish because the dubbing was horrible! I thought i was going to get more horror than i got and thank God i was wrong. The movie was very dark yet quite innocent. The story was beautifully told without any superflous violence or special effects; minimalism used well. The dialogues were, as previously mentionned, very innocent and sweet while the movie in its integrity was excellent. Hard to talk about this movie, was so peculiar. Might watch it again with original swedish voices with english subtitles.

Diary of the Dead (2007): 5/10
Even though i love zombie movies, i am not a big fan of this movie. Whilst not that bad of a movie, a few elements really didn't make it for me. A major one was the overuse of computer-generated imagery, especially for the blood. I mean, some directors manage to use it well but in this case, it felt like Romero wanted to shoot this movie as fast as possible to get it done with. Is is this hard to grasp some Tom Savini wannabe and make some decent actual special effects? Another thing that didn't make the cut for me was the pseudo-intellectual message about the medias. It was done in such a ridiculous fashion and without any subtlety. Anyway, the movie was still enjoyable but really below average.

YES, plz do! I really like this movie and believe it should be experienced with original audio (any movie should). Btw many parts of this movie, including the ending is shot here in Luleå :) (and Luleå isnt very big, which makes it even coaler)

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) - 6/10
Quite funny (:

New York, I Love You (2009) - 2/10
Seemed like quite sucky movie with a lot of small stories that has nothing to do with each other and makes no sense, but as it had a 7.2 rating I decided to watch it anyway. But it was exactly as expected, had to stop after about an hour, was just too boring and useless.

Shutter Island - 8/10
Quite unsettling mood somehow, you could feel something wasn't right on this island. The movie lived up to my expectations and was sniffing at a 9/10 rating but... [the over-explanating end ruined it]

I watched Walk The Line last wednesday, and I was blown away! I am inclined to give it a 9 out of 10, but being so overtly dramatic I rather tone it down to an 8.

Anyway, I was so much inspired that I performed folsom prison blues yesterday on a jam session, and guess what; I rocked the nation.

Yesterday I re-watched Ondskan (Evil in english), 5th time or so here too . Still a good swedish movie which I have a 9/10 rating on. Today I wouldnt rate it that high but I still like it max and rating remains a 9. 9/10

Alice in Wonderland (2010) - 5/10
Started off promising, some references (one could say straight copies) to a few scenes in the cartoon-version. Familiar characters are back with a more 2010ish look. Very much Tim Burton over the whole thing. Pretty funny characters. But I just didn't find the story interesting. I'm glad they didn't sing in this one. OK but nat much more, but still better than the old one. The blue caterpillar is way coaler in the old one tho. "WHO... R U?"

Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland (2010): 8.5/10 Really liked it. Most characters were amazingly portrayed, Johnny Depp had a nice performance again and cheshie was awesome. CGI was loss of 1.5 points. Almost got a 10 just because of the Jabberwocky poem, but it lost that bonus because they cut some of the poem out. It also nearly got a 10 because of the dance at the end, but i decided that was negated by the disgusting actor who played Hamish. yeuch.

Orgazmo: 9/10 By far the funniest movie i've ever seen. It's quite wierdly done and the humour is all the better for it. If you haven't seen so far, go see it.

OH, and i upgrade Alic to 9/10 on imdb because of the fucking amazing soundtrack

Green Zone - 6/10
Pretty random rating really, cant decide what to think (6-8 somewhere). Matt Damon good as always. The very grainy video was pretty annoying, very noticeable in the nightscenes especially. Maybe a bit too much towards the political (I dont like it) plot, although I still got a lot of action along with it. The scenery was great tho, felt max authentic.
