In Uruguay there are 123 cellular phones per 100 ppl!
The population of Uruguay is about 3.356.584 habitants,
this means there are aproximately 4.128.598 cellulars

This info is a little impresive since Uruguay is concidered a country of olds,
most of old ppl dont like tecnology ;p as we know.
Dont have the statics but there are more old ppl than youngs.

Also the number of computers, the number of people that have a computer
is higer than in USA. Probably we are too few ^^.

In my case, all in my family have at least one cellular, including my grandfathers.
Is common to see people working with more than one cellular.

I remember some years ago i had no cellular and my grandmother bought me one xd,
i broke that cellular (( and then my bro gave me one he had but he was not using...
at one time he had 3 cellulars...for what? dunno
Anyway, today buying a new celular is like getting a haircut.

Well, I have 4 phones atm, but one isn't working so I can choose only between three :/ But I rarely use any other than the newest and the best one, only when I'm going to some place I know the phone could get damaged. I have no urge to use them simultaneously o,o

I got my first cellphone when i was 14 i think, i only had used and old phones, a couple of years ago i bought my first new one. Nowadays you see kids under 10 years run around with phones, it makes me kinda sick cuz their brain hasnt developed much and there is high risk of getting cancer etc. Sick parents.

I also think that fancy new phones are all humbug and kids shouldn't get cellulars too young. I have had three 3310's like Lousku and I got the first one when I was maybe 13 or 14. I forgot all of them to the school bus (but the latest one was returned to me though and I used it years more until it broke). Nowdays I have had this one for several years:

i dont know anyone here in america that has two cell phones. i suppose it is most common in ages 15-50 for just about everyone to have one except for poor illegal immigrants. two of my grandparents do not own one though and they are fairly wealthy nonetheless. why do you need more than one phone if you dont mind me asking? is it a split between work and friends or something? or just somewhat of an obsession with phone technology?

I see kids having cellphones as a good thing, it gives possibilities. I study something called Digital Design, which is kinda about developing new fancy interactive products/technologies, and every person, even small kids, having a cellphone with flash/internet/gps ect. gives a lot of possibilities in this field. Actually right now my studygroup is working on project that is depending on kids having cellphones.

I see it as a job for the parents for learn their kids to not "misuse" their phones.

I hate cellulars, but I hate phones anyway. But phones are better than email, so I still have one. Nonverbal communication still is about 50% of all the communication anyway, so you shouldn't depend too much on all the new technologies.
