Would like to say thanks for a nice cup, and by that I mean nice levels.

Surely there were problems and quite few participants, so it could have been more exciting. Everyone is fooling themselves for not playing these awesome levels and having all levels available at the same time was kinda nice. Like if there were a level you didn't like, you could just use more time on the next instead :).

I would've played if I could, I dled your levels and put them in lev folder and when I played for some time first event when I finally made good finish with my style elma says: Could not open file! lev/WinCup01.lev
It has been like that on all levs I have downloaded manually on kopakas cup sites and some other sites.
Why's that?

Sounds like something gets messed up for you when you dl, probably the extenteion of the file. Make sure they're not like "name.lev.lev" or just "name" without the .lev extention.

Also, kinda ridiculous that you bring this up now, when the cup is over. Why not just ask kopaka or sach immediately?

You can set it in preferences. Basically a write protected (skrivskyddad) file cannot be edited, hence a new best time cannot be "edited" into the level.

I did this (and I could get times on lev now):

I right clicked on WinCup01.lev and clicked Properties and then there was this thing called Read-Only, it was checked and I unchecked it.

I also changed opening program from NEW!.exe -> EOL.exe

Which one do you think was the problem? I don't think that chaning program thing changed anything since it worked with other externals I got from EoL (ctrl + F4 thing).

"Read only" was the problem. Basically, if you may only read the file, you can't edit it. Thus if you drive a new best time elma will try to edit the level file to store the time, but it can't do this hence you will get an error and the hongy will bongy.

Go to properties for the folder, and there somewhere you can probably allow it to write to files.
