the sky has no line in it. how come.

I tried wanema.s sky once but that didn't work out as expected as the sky line was left there.

whas i altaways was looking for though has been a zoom option (e.g. for 1080p resolutions) to make it match the prior relative vertical size.

in other words, elma-v1.0-type experience in native-resolution modern displays. 640x480 uncentered; 70p unzoomed mappish corner,

blah this may just be useless begging but

maybe there's some other way out i'm not yet aware of though of course it is a non-question since there is no formal interrogative stance but wait

Re: The Challenge

Post by twipleyy »

thanks for the tips, both of you jonh and kopaka.

however, i've found a way for the experience to be as authentic to the original as i possibly could in such time:

(obviously off-topic anyway, but feel free to open a thread to discuss further):
for 1920x1080 (hd) resolution:
untick everything except 1playoffline 2help-best-times-demo- 3zoom-textures.

should put to native res, and navigator to 315x157.5 (the decimal is gonna be rejected, though)

both zooms to 2.25 and oen should get authentic elma v1.0 experience, plus the much-needed alovolt.

obviously you're gonna tick back the online-play button if you're gonna play online. if i've not made any mistakes, that is.

I tried that challenge on warm up and downhill, couldn't finish. Then tried headbanger, the tight areas seem hard but this is as far as i got: http://kopasite.net/up/0/mw29brake.rec
Anyone can beat this? and I don't think i released brake at any point, but how can I verify that? brake finger is kinda numb now xD

John wrote:The old challenge I bring up once in a while:
Touch the bottom of Long Haul and get back to the start. I think it might just be possible. The (fukkin) hard part is to go from 3rd highest to 2nd highest platform. Solve it! :p Bouncing at the /\ at the bottom up onto the right wall onwards to the poly is pretty fun too, wouldve been cool if it was a WR-style.
I have been trying this on saveload last couple days. Indeed I cant get from the 3rd highest to second highest. I'm not sure how to keep the momentum going for what seems like a necessary brutal right before 2nd highest poly. I think some insane bounce is needed off of bottom jump, then again off of the right wall, I will post replay later of what style I am thinking of...

Here is the idea. At 36 seconds i hit the ledge and try to boost off of it on top of the next platform (obviously i didnt make it). now if i had made it youd then next launch/flip off the triangle i hit at 52 and hopefully get far enough to land on the next platform. if you could successfully do this i think youd have enough momentum to hop up to the second highest poly. i dont know if its possible but i dont see any other way of completing this challenge. ive tried many different brutal styles of getting places but to no avail.

I think it will be done with normal saveload! i mean zweq got to top of loop de loop with two different styles in one saveload rec, i think it didnt even take him very long yes? many thought that wouldnt ever be done. just need zweq to spend some time on it and the itll be good to go.
