These aren't nominations, they're suggestions for nominations. And it doesn't matter how many times someone is mentioned since the jury will read every post.

The decision process takes time, to ensure the best possible candidates are nominated :)
But if anyone has some max suggestions no one's come with yet, by all means let yourselves be heard. The deadline for submitting so you can vote later on, has passed however.

Also, when it comes to categories such as Replay, Level, Style and Art, it would be of great help if you could provide attachments/links to the specific suggestions. But anyway, if I wanted to nominate 02 Mika wr I would have to wait til next GAA? It's like nominate a wr from 2010 which will be announced 2012 (if it wins).

As you can see, it has already been nominated by someone else. So the only harm is that you can't vote in step 3. You can't nominate it in the next GAA either because it was driven in 2010.

I must defend Bjorn a bit. Since the GAA 2010 period is January 1st 2010 - December 31st 2010, it might have been logical that the suggestion step ended in December 31st. But anyway if you miss the deadline for whatever reason, it's of course a no-can-do situation.

This was in the first post for GAA topic.

It would only make sense to let people give the nominations of the year for the entire year in case something comes up like Mikas case where he got his wr after SveinR shut down nominations. Now Mika can not be nominated for next year's GAA or this years, let all kuskis know now not to get a wr during Dec 20th - Jan 1st from now on i guess.

Edit: okay i guess Mika's wr was on the 19th but still not much time to nominate him!

Well, Just because some achievements etc. was not mentioned by the community doesn't mean they will not be taken into consideration by the jury. The main reason why you make your suggestions is to take part in the third step. The jury will then find ten appropriate candidates for each category from the GAA period. So if gimp drives 13,99 in wu on the 31th of Dec, the jury can still elect that to the wr category.

Yeah, like niN says. The community suggestions are just that, suggestions. Nominees can be chosen outside of those suggestions (though the jury obviously takes what the community says strongly into consideration). The nomination process for the jury starts so late in December that no categories will have their full top 10 nominees done before the end of the year, so there's no problem for stuff happening late in the year to be recognized.

well well let it be known that i am suggesting that Mika be nominated for best wr of the year! i know that you jury members arent 'officially' supposed to take my suggestion into strong consideration anymore but i still know that mentally you actually are just because you're reading this. you wont be able to sleep tonight because you know that you aren't supposed to be thinking about what i have to say but by trying to not think about it you have totally screwed yourself and until the day you all have to collaborate together and decide who is nominated and who is not Mikas flat track wr will surely be in the back of your minds eating and gnawing at you. if you dont nominate his wr i would be convinced you only did it to spite me in which case that would be very selfish of you cause Mika did nothing wrong i was the one who made this post not him. so hah!

Yeah, Sunday February 6th or Sunday February 13th, one of those dates. You can voice your opinions here if you'd prefer a different day than a Sunday, but I guess that's the preferred weekday among most people.

Community Award
This is an award decided entirely by the community. You will vote for the people you think most deserve a special honour, be it for their helpfulness, kindness, contributions or simply for being a great player. The reason will be the individual voters' own decision. The idea is that the award will go to the kuski most appreciated by the community. There will be no set of candidates to vote over in this category, each voter decides himself.
The voting process for this award is therefore different, see below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

You are only eligible to vote if you are one of the following kuskis (why?) (listed in alphabetical order):

adi, analcactus, anpdad, Bismuth, Björn, Bludek, Cap, Chris, Crazy, CuLiNo, FinMan, Gioel, Haruhi, Hosp, igge, Ismo, Jappe, Jarkko, jblaze, John, jonharkulsykkel, Kiiwi, Koopa, Kortsu, Labs, Lousku, Lukazz, Madness, Markku, Mawane, Mielz, milagros, Mika_27, Morgan, nick-o-matic, Pab, Pawq, ramone, romy4, totem, twipleyy, Ves, Xarthok, Xhomaz, Xiphias, ZeroNSB, Zid, Zweq

Voting instructions: When voting, send a PM to SveinR with your votes. The votes have to be given in ranked order, from 1st to 5th. Each 1st position will give 5 points, each 2nd position will give 4 points, etc. The jury will assemble these points when the voting process has ended. You can only vote and send a PM once. Do not make your votes public in this thread.
Remember that you don't have to vote in each and every category, but in the categories you do vote in, you have to pick your top 5. Your vote won't count otherwise.

Voting for the Community Award: You will list up to 3 people, in ranked order from 1st to 3rd. Each 1st position will give 5 points, each 2nd position will give 3 points and each 3rd position will give 1 point. Send your votes in this category in the same PM as your other votes. You do not have to vote in this category. I would strongly encourage people to write a few words about the people you vote for (if you have something specific to mention), because when we present the winner of this category, we'll include your reasons behind voting for him in some sort of speech. This speech will be based on what you've written.

In all categories: Only base your votes on what has happened in the GAA period.
Site: Vote for the sites that have improved the most and increased their relevance the most over the GAA period.
WRs: See http://www.moposite.com/records_elma_wrs.php

Deadline of sending in your votes: Tuesday February 8th 2011, 23:59 EET (GMT+2)

External scene is not very active, but at least you played some on LOS site.

Agree these nominations arent good... just some of my thoughts:

- Raven and talli in internalist - surely they have some skill for ints, but did they make more than some 2-3 random pr's in 2010? if so, ok

- rookie: Phlaim admitted he did play some 5 years ago but dunno if in scene, Weep already had Flat Track wr under another nick like Viktu or sach, he admitted it (16,6x?), also nat really sure about Lousku and jonharkulmopo

- romy4 and anpdad 28 style was known, maybe thats first finished public rec with that but saveloaded, is that fair? also YEAHS only used this style for 04 but Culino was the inventor of teh if remember right

- Zweq's new wave 1.16 rec includes bug (obviously) with only average riding at most, is that fair again?

Ofc not wanna be offensive to anyone :S, just some things i noticed, thxthx

rookie nominations very funny, ill just vote for those whom i like most :D i think it was agreed before that the line is very thin and that the jury will simply decide whether to get somebody through or not :)
also lollled haaaard after seeing zweq's bugged nw 1.16 in rec nominations :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD

and havent seen jon's jon001.lev promo vid before, MAX LOL I LOVE JON OMG <3

We appreciate criticism, but here's a thought for everyone next year:

Include comments to your nominee suggestions. That makes it much easier to distinguish the candidates. The vast majority of the suggestions are just a name, nothing else. I don't mean to say the jury can't figure stuff out by themselves, but again, it makes the job much easier.

If Phlaim played 5 years ago that doesn't matter as long as it was not in the scene. Neither of us knew about Weep/Vikto, that should be looked into..

About Rookie: We had discussions about replacing it with a Breakthrough category, where really no lines would have to be drawn. It could be difficult to decide what's a breakthrough or not though. Ultimately we didn't change Rookie or add Breakthrough category, but what would your thoughts be towards such a category?
