Re: Playing Online
Thanks;
I'm still getting the same error, lost TCP connection with server.
eol is an exception in the firewall. I'm using my phone as a modem; will this stuff up the ports/TCP?

Re: Playing Online
Nice to see that you're joining EOL Jamik. There are just a couple of things to keep in mind:
You will most certainly want to start your own levels as battles, but keep in mind you cannot start "old" levels. A level is old whenever it has been shared somewhere before being started as a battle. This means you cannot start your jamik### levels you shared in the other thread, for instance. However, if you make new levels you may start them of course - just don't share them in any way before you start them. Afterwards you can share them as much as you want.
This rule is there to prevent any unfair advantages in a battle. For instance if you started Jamik003 as a battle now, some players, including me, would have a head-start as we've already played the level, but others might not have.
One more thing about starting levels, that isn't necessarily regulated by rules, is the time of the battle. The way battles work (most of the time) is that you as the starter set a time limit for a level, and the rest of the players online will play for that amount of time and try to make the best time in the level. The time needed for a level depends on how long and hard it is. An average 20 second level usually needs about 10-12 minutes, whereas an average 1-minute level usually needs something around 20 minutes. Usually there's no need for a time limit above 30 minutes, unless it's a really long and hard level, or if there are many styles to consider (ie many different ways of finishing the level with a similar time).
Other than that you're pretty much free to do whatever you want. Some important hotkeys to know are:
F1 - shows / hides other players (Note that other players are usually set to always hidden during battles, so you might not see them until after the battle is over.)
F2 - spectates a certain player
F3 - show upcoming battles in the queue
F4 - Download the current battle level
F5 - show players online
F6 - show the current battle standings
F7 - Show the latest finished times
F8 - send / accept a multiplayer invitation
F9 - talk
F10 - show / hide information about current battle
F11 - download the winning replay of a battle
F12 - connect to the server
Those are the most important hotkeys. There are more, and they can be found here:
http://zworqy.com/elmawiki/index.php/Playing_Online
The link above should also answer any other questions you might have. If there are any uncertainties though you can always make a post here, or use F9 in EOL to ask a question in the chat. Players online are usually very helpful and friendly. :)
Edit:
About your TCP error, open up your EOLconf.exe and make sure you have the correct values for IP and TCP/UDP. They should be:
IP: 173.236.167.53
TCP: 4460
UDP: 4461
That should fix your problem! :)

Re: Playing Online
You mean it wasn't activated properly? My nick in elmaonline is the same as in EOLconfig.
It didn't have any error when I switched to admin's account for 1min, I wrote something in chat but couldn't see it after i pressed enter. Now Battle is off and I get the error again.
IP is right and 4460, 4461 is on the eolconfig.
So close to getting it to work!

also make sure "2nd nick" box is not checked
Re: Playing Online
When I try to log on at EOL site I get a sent to a blank page that says, "Email not Confirmed". When I try to register it tells me the nick is already in use, probably cause I have registered already if I remember correctly, I don't ever remember getting an email though. Moderators of the site help would be appreciated.

I have confirmed you. Blame nab spam filters.. Everyone should add noreply@elmaonline.net to contactlist / whitelist so it doesn't go to spam.gimp wrote:When I try to log on at EOL site I get a sent to a blank page that says, "Email not Confirmed". Re: Playing Online
If you saw Spef saying something online, it is not the usual one at least. Wrong password/nick or something if the delay is only a second or such.
Re: Playing Online
I've seen Thunder appear in f5 today for a second, then disappearing again. He kept blinking like that for a little while, then stopped Wonder why he could be forced to disconnect if eol recognizes him normally.
Re: Playing Online
Maybe firewall blocks or sach? Tried forwarding ports etc?

Re: Playing Online
anpdad, that same thing happens if you don't put a password at all, even with an non-existing nickname. Just try it out.
Igge: I do not thing port forwarding has any affect on keeping connected, it is udp ports you have to forward after all.. Of course you can try, and instead of forwarding ports ez just tick tcp only on eolconf.

Re: Playing Online
something wrong with your exe or res, you are getting kicked by anti cheat protection, try reinstall or get a full eol installation from someone else
Re: Playing Online

Tried a clean start now, and it fucking works:):):):) I am so happy right now.
But dont understand why i got kicked out for cheating, when i tried a fresh start earlier today. But now i didnt copy record, and level. Maybe i had cheating levels or something.
