If you have a guitar or piano, try testing your finger co-ordination on that. The first year of learning violin is pretty grueling because you can never tell how well you are adapting due to your bowing and finger technique having to improve before you can focus on playing more complicated stuff. If you can do complex things on guitar or piano (ie. harder chords and jumps) then you'll have passed the first step to learning a bow instrument.Lee wrote:Does anyone here play or has played the violin?
I've been thinking about learning violin and would like some beginners advice from a violinist (or someone who knows at least anything about violins).
Try playing the guitar with strings reversed, if that helps you.Tigro wrote:i hate when moved from piano to guitar. On piano hign tones are right (or up) and on guitar high tones are down. whatta heck? still playing teh piano. Violin seems bit hard and expensive just for trying...

Meant: I've never played piano or sach (more than a few minutes of obligatory mongoing here and there :)) and found the patterns very easy.Zweq wrote:very easy for beginner, comes with practice.

Definately, I don't listen to alot of music from the 80s at all, but imo I do think KC did some pretty great stuff in the 80sPawq wrote:just like all the music from the 80s feels way worse for me than 60->70s and 90->2000s
Go Tarja!! Heavily doubt that will ever happenTigro wrote:Anette Olzon abandoned Nightwish. Again without front(wo)man.
