jbl were you able to make them 1920x1080? To make it 16x9 best would be if possible to crop it/leave out a little (maybe remove some of the bottom part of igge pic) so that it can fit as wallpaper nicely. Only if you cba though))

Made this little pic of tree2. I have always loved this image, so i wanted to paint it irl :)

it is painted with acrylic colors and black spray on 15x15 cm canvas.

edit: guess what external/internal level it is from (without searching in elma) and you win!

Love that idea for a LGR Lee. Too bad I always play with the same LGR, I guess most players do, so maybe making that LGR would be in vain. Anyway what's so great about it is that cartoonish look, make sure to keep it like that!

I do, but I have them uploaded only on facebook and only a bunch of them. I will try to upload them on my pinterest or something and give u guys a link to it ;)
Lee wrote:Well done. If you do another in the future try to make it more interesting, like having the biker hanging upside down from a tree branch.
That might be indeed a better picture, but I just wanted to appreciate the beauty of tree2 :) Maybe I'll do another painting from elma, but not in the near future, I guess..
FinMan wrote:Bludek can you turn default ground/sky off from pic? :G Amasing stuff though
I didn't even realize the original int06 is w/ brick/sky :( I have turned on ground/sky for so many years, that it didn't really come to my mind. I even had a special little program for that when there was no belma or EOL. I could re-paint it (brick might be cool looking too and the "shadow" there is kinda not what I wanted), but I like it the way it is :) It would feel to me like making it a different piece of painting. It would be like destroying the original - it feels completed now imo, if you know what I mean.

I've uploaded some of my stuff to DeviantArt. I took two painting courses, but I am still a beginner, I do not paint very often, but I like it a lot :) It is just a hobby. I have no ambitions to be an illustrator or anything like that. Would be sick cool to have paintings in a gallery or something, but that would be a long long journey :)

Re: ELMA ART

Post by ville_j »

Recently one night kalsarkänning @home I had an idea of sending xmas cards to elma people. If this wasn't such a quick binge session I might have gone for more people, but this time I decided to restrict the selection to people who I have personally visited. Also I wanted it to be a total surprise for everyone so I didn't want to ask any addresses and had to do some sherlocking on the way. Anyways here are the results:

Image
Mariapple, for Orcc and his gf
This was the first one I made, apple was an easy decision. Wanted this to look somewhat "normal" christmas card because I am not sure if Orcc's gf still has seen elma at all and didn't want it to be too alienating.

Image
Authentic, for nick-o-matic and Laramie
Second one was also easy, a flower of course. This was actually first just the flower, but once I had finished the rest of the cards I felt like this was missing something so I decided to add the grassed ground on the other side. This is the most elma-like card and I thought it would suite nick-o-matic very well as I knew it wouldn't be a problem for him to put it on his fridge door.

Image
Stone & Gold, for roope
Initially I had an idea of making this kind of a card with a tree image on it. But then I thought it might take too much time to make it look the way I wanted so I decided to try something a bit simpler first, and I think it turned out very good so I kept it. This is probably the most artistic one, kind of just having the style and trying to look like something elma-related.

Image
Tied up, for veezay
This one was an easy one and also is quite self-explanatory if you know veezay. I kinda lolled a few times while thinking and making this one.

Image
poro.lev, for lousku
This was definitely the hardest one. Not that it would be complex, but I had already spent some hours making the previous cards used many ideas I had, so when I started making this I tried real hard to come up with something good and I made two attempts (of different ideas) but those just didn't work. Then I just wanted to do something simple and happened to have oke colors for representing an elma lev map. I actually first made the level in the editor and then drew it on a paper from there and cut the pieces. Very satisfied after the frustration moments.

At this point, after finishing all these cards, I was drunk enough to decide to do a one more card. The person who it is for has ignored me and and a few other persons on irc, so I thought it might be fun to still send him an xmas card. This was made communally and various people on irc send me a pm and I added their message to the card.

Image
Image
Beery Xmas, for juka
I made this card the next morning. It was quite easy to get an idea, hardest part was writing the other people's messages on the other side because of hangover shakiness. I think juka liked it (even tho he ignored some people) since he didn't dispose it instantly.

For all who didn't receive a card from me, I wish you all a merry xmas too, I'm sorry I didn't have resources to send cards for everyone!
