Well, even with 1-1 England would still be through. And the goal Ukraine didn't get they shouldn't have gotten, since in any case it was an offside. So the referees made two mistakes there, which effectively resulted in the correct decision

France sucked, got what they deserved, they were still boring after the first goal.

Nice with the first penalty shootout, gotta love those Nice that Italy won it since they played better in the last parts of the game at least.
btw. saw the Germany - Greece game a bit later cus I wasn't home. I really wonder how that first "goal" was offside, when it was a reposte from the goalkeeper. Or am I totally missing something?
Italy deserved win. Pirlo was world class. On the other hand what the hell Cole was thinking. That was the worst penalty shot during this tournament.
Spain played badly, but not as bad as France. Spain is getting worse the more matches they play. They will lose to Portugal.
Portugal 2:0 Spain
Italy is team that was very defensive during group phase, but last night they had 18 shots on target! More than whole English team during whole tournament (17). If anyone can beat ze Germans it's Italy. Germans aren't that good as many think. They lost 2 goals to Greece.
Germany 1:3 Italy

ye, one from penalty. and they scored 4.
Penalties count.
Do you think Germany will beat Italy so easily? Italians are known to be masters of defense and they are capable of stopping Germans. If they stop them, Germans will lose their biggest asset (good attack) and as Greeks showed Germans defense have serious cracks. I won't say Germans stand no chance to win. They are probably still favorite to win, but history showed that such a highly offensive teams can suddenly lose. In last Euro Netherlands scored 9 or 10 goals in group and they were smashed by not so good Russians later in next round. Note that in 2008 even Spain who that time had one of the best teams in history had tough match with Italy when there was 0:0 and Spain won in penalties.
