Found Internals

Post by Ramone »

Found Internals

In 2002 Bartek made Lost Internals. Now I have created Found Internals. I spent several hundreds of hours making these levels and I am really happy with the result. It all started one drunk early saturday morning when I visited BarTek and he betted me I could not make better internal copy than he could. He got to pick level and he chose Circuitous and I started to make and it and was so much harder than I thought, later he fell asleep and kept trying to finish the level. Over 6h later first version of my Circuitous, named Pretentious, was ready. And then I thought that was so fun so once I came back home I started to make more internal copies. At first didn´t know if I should battle them or if I would make all 54 levels. But when I had made half of them I was sure I wanted to make a full levelpack. I have worked way more on these levels than any other levels before and I tried my hardest to capture the internal feel, visuals and playability. BarTek also made a guestlev just as MUe got to make one of the internals. I had tons of fun making this levels and I really hope you will enjoy them.

Recordtable will be hosted at Kopasite

Extra thanks goes to:
BarTek (feedback, testing and making guestlev)
Kopaka (hosting levelpack at his site)
Abula (some testing and help with levelnames)
Luther (testplaying)
jblaze (came up with Found Internals name)

Plenty of love

Thanks for the great levels! My personal target is to get a totaltime. It's "MUe" btw.

Played through some of the levels yesterday. Easily the best levels I've played since 2007 or whenever I re-entered the scene. ALP is still the best and the most beautiful level pack ever, but this comes close. Looks great, feels very internalish and there must be some cool styles to be found. I will dedicate this Friday evening to finishing all the levels and maybe hoyling some interesting styles.

First one to break 64min limit!!

I don't think breaking 63 is possible for humans, so this might be the very last minute break. Maybe in ten years or so. But 62 is 100% impsy

Ramone, very nice level pack indeed. Best levels I have played in many years! You have managed to copy the original internal feelings very well. All the pictures, polygons and grasses look exactly like in the internals. And there are everywhere very nice styles to be found. Seems that these levels are not so easy to finish in good time than average levels. I mean that you have managed to create some depth in the levels - just like in internals: you can easily finish the levels, but to find the best styles, you have to play quite a lot and test different styles. Also I like the internalish design: there are no "extra" vertices, only the ones that are really needed. It's nice to get this kind of level pack for you. I have always though that your style is very close to internalish style always when you make levels. And what is best in these levels is that I get the same feeling that I had when I played internals over 10 years ago. Each level different and full of possibilities. I think these levels will be played a lot :)

Yay, finished all levels with tt of 57:51,90. Most of the levs are very good, but then there are some which I didn't really like. Tricks Abound was a bit too weird and Curvaceous didn't make much sense to me, Enigma also very weird, Long Haul feels like too many apples... and Zig Zag end is maybe too annoying... but maybe these all will make sense when play more and see better styles. There are few levs which I will be hoyling much I think.

Thanks zebra!

And ville, nice finished all! 4 guys finished all levels now!

And for curva, when I first played curva I had no idea how to play. my first finish was over minute and its one of the weirder levels for new ppl I think. We are so used to working styles there now. And some levels has to be abit like that. Weirdest Found imo is probably 27 ;)

Has to be a few weird levs here too :P

As far as i'm concerned, these levs and EOL pack are both external levs with the most depth as packs. You can always go into an EOLxx.lev and have a lovely time, this seems to be the same.

I'd like to see them immortalised as official packs in Elma2.

ps: I'm glad you made these ram, you have always been the person who should make levelpack like this but only made balle's. Your levmaking style is so much better suited to levelpacks.

Please guys really let's attach these levels as the default levels for elma2 like internals are. This would be a massive move! These levels are simply brilliant, and such an internal feel... Feels like I'm 13 years younger when playing them or something like that! Thank you Ramone, what would we do without you!

That was my first thought the moment I laid my eyes upon these levs. They could have made a fantastic new set of internals for Elma 2. Maybe we can still do that. But iirc, most people were against the idea of having the old internals replaced, tho :/

Well if it's the exact same game with a nail polish on it, why even call it Elma 2 then, eh? But that's another debate. I did mean integration of these levels in the same sense that current internals come shipped with the game as is. Maybe they could be two (or more) parallel sets.

That's what I imagined for EOL pack from the very beginning (and now this). I can't imagine losing the proper internals.
Also, about elma 2 being almost the same as before - we still want it to be elma, don't we? I mean we keep the physics identical, so basically the gaming itself remains, what we change is basically the interface, this way making elma more handy, more practical and user friendly. But it's still elma, I mean if it were not we could as well have it with 3D and with 3 wheels! And I can't imagine elma without internals, even though I'm not the chief internal hoyla around here.
