Oldschool drivin in internal levels

Post by GuyB »

I have started a contest with oldschool drivin in many of the internal levels

I have picked out 22 levels that has huge parts of them skipped in the "normal" rides and added apples and killers to "force "driving to be done the old way
only apples and killers have been added, NOT A SINGLE POLYGON HAS BEEN CHANGED

If you think it sounds fun check it out here
http://acrossdk.mine.nu/acrossdk/
If you think it sounds lame, check it out anyway

Ok, there are serious wrong-placements of the apples in Zig-Zag. It doesn't become old-school, just something else.

there actually are removed some apples in some levs. i dont think its a good idea. you could leave all normal apples and just add new one to make path more linear..

Headbanger oldskool replay needed

Post by jcl »

My girlfriend loves headbanger and höyls it frequently.
She asked me to get a real cool replay without the shortcut.
I only have 1:15.xx on headbanger, so if you have a real cool
one, and want to donate it, please send.

Ps.: Many volts are highly recommended, she loves it :)

Post by GuyB »

I have followed up on the idea dz gave and added the original apples in the lvls, plus I corrected a mistake in zig zag.. That lvl just keeps giving me trouble
Also on the picture for downhill an apple was missing, but that has been corrected now
.. ..
hope everything is ok now 8)

lol, nobody prevents you from playing with the shortcuts :)
GuyB just thinks that some levs might be fun with the longer path. And i think he's right. Lab pro for example!
bob

nah

Post by bob »

yeh but GuyB could very likely see 'the real' way of doing a stage totally different from wat i think..
and why is it called old scool driving for, since wen did ppl drive 'your real way'

am i not rite?

have a look at this pic
(just testin it out)

Edit: Geocities don't allow to link directly. And all testing to testing forum, please. -Abula

little of this and little of that

Post by GuyB »

lots of comments 8) .. I like that, that means that people check out what I have made 8D

Ramone :As you point out in freefall, the old w-rec way is possible in my oldschool level. Nuttin wrong with that. To prevent it I would have to make some change in the level, and thats NOT the point in my contest. the point is to drive levels the OLD way.
Bob : there is no real way to drive a level, you are right there, but there are routes planned in the levels. If you look at balazs driving in the demo in elastomania you see what he thought as the way in long haul for examble. It is the same in many of the levels, we just skip many parts to finish the level faster.
What I regard as the "old" route and what you think it is can be two different things.. at least in some levels, but then again, this is just something I thought up as something I wanted to do.. a simple contest.. nothing more.
Unlike the big amount of contest around the net this contest has a twist, this is not just my own "lvlpack".. its the original levels, but with new (old )routes..
