kind of hard for us to judge ramones choices, when it's only him that has access to the levels to choose from. i trust in his authority atleast. i don't mind that some have more than one level in the cup, but more than two would be a bit strange i guess.
also i think bartek has proven that he's among the all time best levelmakers.

igge. this is no democracy. as I said. levels make it, not makers. you seem to think I should get one lev from dif makers to make it what, more fair? I dont understand. I pick the levels I think fits the cup best. And its (imo) not only to pick 15 great levels, I want variety of levels. And rememberable levels. I think I managed quite well to make that selection this far (you may disagree, but I can only trust in myself).

and the fact that BarTek been absent is reason for not pick his levs??? I think its the levels. your reasons are so weird. I pick best levels. I dont care who made em. Also ofc Im in team TAP, I love tap makers, and their levels, so not weird I will select their levels. Also as j-sim said, BarTek makes great levels and is big levmakerinspiration for me and others. I respect his levs alot.

and yeah, most levs I got was basic battle levels. feels liek any random normal battle level. some might like to play but forgettable levels and all looks/feel quite the same, and doen thave this special feeling over them that I am looking for.

ppl like and will always liek dif levels. in al events this far there been lovers and haters, so in that way I think I made good call. Variation and rememberable levels, cool visuals. I think this is important. In the past wc levels got many stoked on levelmaking. To only pick basic boring levels make no sense to me. most levels ppl sent they made no effort with whatsoever. and I got so many fucking shitlevs. in beginning was so afraid woudlnt event be able to get 15 ok levels.

so hate and complain all you want (I never liked picks to 0lp, wc or EOL in the past either, so for me this was very exciting to land this job. And yeah, it felt much harder than I thought. I thought ppl would try to make amazing levels, most were just lazy. but it is still very fun) I still think I am doing a good job.

It's just I still think there should have been more people on the jury deciding on the levs. I've always had the feel ramone has a liking for certain kind of levs and has some strong opinions on stuff. Can't know what kind of levs have people sent, but I'll just put it out there: 2 ramone levs, 1 other TAP lev (yes, I know elmaster joined TAP after the event), 2 levs by best ramone-elmafriend4eva bart. So WC does have a very Ramone feeling in it. Not blaming you man, just thinking that there should have been more people on the jury :*

Also, didn't like how you used a modified version of my lev for pre-world cup without my permission. I sent the lev for World Cup, not some shiatz that only a few people will play. Might have rather battled it if it didn't make the big show o,o

1 man jury is fine. At least there is higher chance to see special events. I'm little afraid that most of sent levels are battle levels quality. Also I wonder has anyone sent for example over 2 min (complex) level or something like wc512.

That was always the plan, to have a jury of a few people. We just couldn't find any one else that fit the criterias: Trusted, good level knowledge, are okay with not playing wcup, have time. Luckily ramone was able to do all the work by himself. Which of course have some effect on the choosen levels, but what can you do, previous wcup been like that aswell anyway.

"There will be some backlash so might as well go all the way and not give a flying fuck about what anyone else thinks."

Ramone asked me to send something like my battle levs for the cup. Now he says the exact opposite, but whatever. I was mostly pissed that he refused to give any constructive feedback and instead just yelled insults and typical ramononsense in private messages with caps lock. I wish I had saved some of it.

I wonder if this is also true
12:25:19 < chris__> ville__j: Ramone said that even if I made best level he won't chose it, because I made some battle he didn't like
But I don't want to blame anyone, I haven't seen the levels people sent in. Maybe it truly is so that there were not enough good levels from diverse lev makers. What is a good lev is of course very hard to define, that's where some other guy in the selecting process would've helped. I don't think visuals should play a big role though, there are not many people who make visually cool levels.

lousku, some battle levels sticks out from the many (like many of yours) and thats why I asked you to make. Ive seen many battles since wc started from a variety of ppl that feels like would have fitted in wc. also I told many times feedback but you were not able to understand it and I told over and over. I finally got sick of it and didnt orka explain more. I told same stuff to others and they understood.

chris, you made a sick level with very cool visuals that I had never seen before, got really stoked on it and wanted to use for wc. then later you told me you had made several levels with same idea and visuals as battles and then I lost interest. I want nice visuals and cool ideas but the nice surprise of cool level gets ruined if you did several levels with same idea and battled allready. I told you I wont use that levelidea no matter how good lev turns out cause it will just feel like any random battle when is old idea. (not all old ideas are bad, but this was so specific) and it was that that I told.

god damn you complain alot, I hope it helps you with life!

of course people are complaining, they always will. everyone's opinion is different. my opinion is that some of the wcup levs would be bad even as if they were balle levs. you won't please everyone, ever.

You were repeating that every level has to have "an idea", and refused to explain what you meant by that. Why didn't you just say you meant visuals? Would have been much simpler than going into detail about how big of an idiot I am for not making the OBVIOUS connection myself.

12th event of World Cup 6 ended yesteday and was won by Kazan who took his sixth event win. This secures his lead in standings further where he is tailed by adi and finman on the next positions. The new event is the third to last and keeps the tradition of a roller coaster level alive. This one is made by nick-o-matic who also made the roller coaster level in the EOL levelpack. Deadline is as always on sunday at 18 EET. There is now only three weeks left of the sixth Elasto Mania World Cup. Now is your time to make your mark! http://worldcup6.com/
