Yep, I understand you guys thought this level wasn't appropriate. But good job to all.

I don't have time to update nindex until sunday after the battle! I will put the stats from both results in then.

Very good but hard and complex lev again. After the first WBC people wanted easier levels but it doesn't seem like it's happening. Sorry for always complaining but I just want easier levs, these all could be normal one week wcup levels.

If I had known nothing about the levels in this cup or nin, based on the comments I'd believe he was a terrible organizer and apathetic person. But he is actually an outstanding hard working guy, and an asset to the scene, with a history of organizing and arranging cups/externals, and even created a movie about elma. He is also doing a good job with this cup. Ramone's attack specifically bothered me, and I'm not even the one being attacked, sorry Ramone. But yeah, what the fuck?

For me Bludek lev was quite simple compared to previous levels. I mean it was very straighforward to find satisfying basic route and basic moves. Sure could've wasted 20 minutes more to find out that left first is probably too hard & slow to be hoyled in given battle time. If you are not Zero you should probably just go right first (so did I). Need to take risks and decide route quickly...actually same is with cup levels - you don't want to spend hours/days for testing each route. However, I hope that there won't be too many multi route battles, need good balance. Anyway I just agree with Ramone that all battle levels have been great so far.

I enjoy reading comments about complexity of levels. This also makes me think about current state of EOL battling. I often feel highly annoyed because of the lenght of battle times. Anyway this is a bit off topic and should be discussed somewhere else.

I found this suspicious as I can't remember they have ever ranked top 20 in this cup so I checked all the WBCII levels at elmaonline.net.

As far as I ctrl f'edthe results, I did not find them have even played any of the levels. So what's up with that?

Chris has played 4 WBC battles and Ded has played 3, so something's up with your searching. Anyway, they have always been in the bottom of the results, and according to the point system at Nindex Chris should have 4 points and Ded should have 3, if even those (44th position gets 1 point, dunno if everyone after that gets 1 point or 0 points).

Right, I checked the levels, not the battles (apple count included). My mistake.

Anyways, as roope can confirm this, we obviously do have a problem with the counting system.

Since this happened to Ded and Chris, maybe there are mistakes on other players as well?

EDIT:

Yeah, found one more mistake

He should have 88 points if I have calculated correctly(One 11th and one 25th and one 48th and rest not played).

the point system work like this: 44th and below gets 1 point. This should be specified more clearly but now you know :)

something's wrong with the stats, I will look into it now. thanks for noticing!

Awesome, your help is much appreciated! I will try to make some time to look into the codes tonight. If not, I should have an hour over tomorrow during the battle.

While we're talking about the table... "5020" is actually this person: http://elmaonline.net/players/wildbiker
I think there is a bug on elmaonline.net where newly registered users appear as their ID for a while (rather than their nickname).

Is it a bug or a feature? I'm not sure... but it was quite confusing for me too, for some days after registering.

Btw, on nindex: 86. wildbiker and 100. 5020
Which one is the real wildbiker?:D

It's done on purpose, updates an array of nicks/teams/countries daily from database, so it doesn't have to read those from database all the time. For nindex his script probably read the two as two different players when it changed from id to nick.

Of course the points are comparable. You missed an event, got 0 points and that's how it goes. But yes, those head-to-head stats are possibly more important and you are going to lose in those too. Btw I am also going to participate in the bonus event!

Couldn't agree more. Anyway it's really out of question to skip own battle (or would it be ok to lose some 100 points?).

I also couldn't really get into this lev and stopped playing after some 15 minutes... I don't really know how to explain. Maybe the silly looking creatures contributed to this trashy feeling and put me off.

IMO of course there is nothing wrong with FM playing and winning. If it was considered wrong, top players obviously wouldn't send any levels since doing so would mean possibly losing points. So please don't discourage them from sending levels by saiyng stuff like this.

I wanted to make a level where I really don't make the shapes fit my, or anyone else's, playstyle directly. I think that this kind of level making is amazing, just look at animal farm where you really have to just find the moves, not use the moves made for you. I also was in the mood for drawing when I made the level. If I made a casual fm battle I would have had a huge advantage instead of the minor advantage I had. Never really played any of my own levels seriously before though, not even half-seriously, was an experience for sure, enjoyed the level myself, reminded me of playing Bowling.

I playtested the level for about 10 minutes and made few minor changes. If I tested it more I would have definitely changed a lot of things but never really felt like it after making the level, even though the level was in my mind quite often. This would also result in more advantage for me which I would hate. The level was too hard for a cup for sure, in the same way as Jappe2's pipe was.

In wcup and the first wbc I didn't send any levels in because I really don't want to play own levels to win. I saw many comments suggesting unfair play from me which I understand, but sure doesn't feel good.

Also, I totally agree with what adi said, "really out of question to skip own battle".

Wow, I'm glad my lev was chosen after all. What did people think about it? If someone can share the chat logs from that time, I would be glad to read them.
Very gz to Pab, I rated rec 5 on recsource.)

Btw some random facts about the lev, maybe interesting to someone:
- I made most of it over the course of a single day. On the second day I only added grass\pictures and fiddled with vertex placement just a little bit.
- I thought about the win style, but expected the first apple to be either impossible or too time consuming with some floor climbing required.
- So yeah, the win style was a surprise. I was expecting either http://i.imgur.com/dWhy6F3.png or http://i.imgur.com/qNKoyCP.png which seemed to me about equally fast.
- I had no plan or anything when I started making the lev. All I knew is that I wanted to create something for wbc, so I began drawing random polygons and eventually got this.
- I know it probably turned out a little too complex for wbc... But if you think about it, it was the only really big multi route lev of this kind in the whole cup, so maybe it's okay imo.
