Re: Replays sharing
that apple turn is fucking impsy in sl even, rec is sick
Re: Replays sharing
I spent around 10 hours in SL to do the turn. Its easier with less bug on 2nd hill like in zweqs rec. Its hard because you spend so much time just gassing, need super precise angle to start. There is no room for adjustment even slight ones. Same problem as level with air time.
Impsy to improve unless possible in first 3.5s.

Re: Replays sharing
Ye ez. Elma too complex for driving perfect. I used all tricks i knew about for this rec. So "impsy to improve" refers to my knowledge. Two wtfish triks is changing to max fps at 11s and 13s for a few frames. Saves 0.005 total for improving .82 to .81.

Awesome stuff romy4, it's great to see these levels get proper attention.
By the way, that is not the first finish in Lost55, Hosp. Here is a rec by v3nom dated 30.05.2011 and I wouldn't be surprised if someone has an even older run.

WARNING: the rec actually sucks ass. only the mid is watchable, even my pr is faster in start etc. don't try at home also plz.

Pipe 28.63 (SL) - http://www.recsource.tv/r/xdqeoznglu
Decided to share this because it's the only rec of mine that contains a bounce which could be considered buggy by some. Ez better with both wheel hang, but that would require even a stronger bounce. I will appreciate your opinions (especially FinMan's, as his WR could be used as a precedent of sorts).
Tricks Abound - 35.18 (SL) - http://www.recsource.tv/r/djcsyngfez
Had shared a similar rec with a faster style where I missed the last apple, so here you have the regular style.

Gathered some VSK recs together for your pleasure.
Drove these earlier this year when I had a project to drop down the WR total time to under 1h which I managed to do.

Edit: What the heck.. Have some more. Uploaded a second zip that also has 10 WR recs.

Re: Replays sharing
Wow, what a wonderful Christmas present! <3
First of all, it had completely escaped me that WR TT now is below 1h! That's amazing! Huge congrats to all record holders who made this possible, and major props to you for not shying away from a pack 147 levels big, but instead taking it as a challenge. I always knew in the back of my mind sub 1h was possible, but actually seeing it done does give me a really warm and fuzzy feeling inside. The best part of it all is knowing your levels are played and appreciated even after 10 years, and that is a very special feeling indeed! Big thanks to everyone who played and still plays those old levels; not just VSK, but any old pack that just might scratch your itch just right.
4-5 years ago Jeppe sent me all his recs for the VSK pack, and back then I was blown away by the things he could come up with, and the quality of driving he could put out. It's something you'd expect to see in an internal, but you never imagined that your own levels could look like internals too when played by someone that good and dedicated. I think seeing Jeppe's VSK recs was the start of me realizing that designing a level is not necessarily the same as creating it. Designing a level is just part of the creation process, and the other part comes from people playing it. The way I see it even the internals are still today being created, molded, and shaped by internalists who will stop at nothing to make the level bend to their will. This is exactly the reason why people still play 10 or even 15 year-old levels: Because they constantly change. Now after seeing Zero's recs above, if I go back to play those VSK levels they will not be the same to me as they were before. They will be new levels, but with a richer history.
Anyway, rambling aside. I will take a risk to maybe out parts of Jeppes styles here, but since your recs are WRs, I will at most mention improvements you've found compared to his recs from 5 years ago.
011: Such a beautiful brutal at the beginning; it feels like you get more speed forwards than you had before. Also that one-wheel hang at the end I had never thought of before, but it's seconds faster than the normal 2-wheel. Super sick to see!
018: This has always been one of my favorite levs. Super clean run, and you even get the gas in at 4s. And clever head-first finish)
043: You're supposed to go all the way into the corner and pop out, not do some elastic brake followed by some super backflip! Damn hoylas ruining level concepts...
052: Just nice and clean. Sick u15.
053: This is one of those things where I see how far elma really has come lately. The uphill part to the left might not look like much, but that kind of control with turn changes etc wasn't normal to see some years ago. Maybe in internals, but not in random externals like this. I think uphill FFs have changed the way we play levels a lot when it comes to those tiny control inputs.
115: WTF is that start?!? Youre not supposed to do that!!
126: I love the slick entry into the vsync, and that pipe entry at the end is just gorgeous.
129: This level has always been one of my favorites to cruise, but I was never able to get a good time. 59,76 by Jeppe felt like such an achievement, not only because it's below 1m, but because I could never get anywhere near that time, despite the level being fairly 1-styled. 55,87 is just insane, and you make it look so damn easy. Same with most of your other recs that I didn't mention here.
Im curious Zero, when you play externals like these, do you try different styles and merge etc, or do you just get a feeling for what's faster? When I merge some of your recs to Jeppe's I can see you gain tiny advantages here and there. I'm wondering if you also tried other styles, merged, and found out what was faster, or if you just went with what felt best? Granted, the recs I have from Jeppe are over 5 years old, so I'm guessing 5 years of battling has made a big difference too in overall skill and style-finding ability.
Anyway, thanks a lot for the recs, and congratulations on reaching your target (wr) tt! It makes me really happy to see, and I'm really glad you shared the recs as well. Was a pleasure to watch and spy and follow you on this journey!
Seeing as 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of Across, this upcoming year would be the perfect time to keep playing and creating new styles in those old levels; VSK or what have you. To 20 more years of improvement!
