probably like 7-10 brutals that were good enough to get up, failed many trying the 29.11 hang. got a brutal once in an hour or so on average so didn't play a huge lot. got it faster than expected though, that's why so uncomfortable looking rec after the brutal, also pretty good amount of pressure in head. for some reason the last loop always bugged in some way (minor bugs but still) with 60 fps (through limiter) which i used so was very careful there.

Somebody make a video from these recs, please. I would love to watch them, but I am too lazy to download them all and then press enter for each individual rec etc.

Stolen01Mad - average run, bad end style, ez 13.2x
Stolen02Mad - pretty good run, mid/end could've been better with low fps, but start only works with high fps
Stolen03Mad - flawless run, zero's style
Stolen04Mad - average run where I finally didn't miss flower
Stolen05Mad - good run, but no push at 6.9x
Stolen10Mad - nothing special, just second finish with brutal or so
Stolen14Mad - nothing special, except the magic trick where I made the kuski disappear at the very last second

Didnt expect to see kull Stolen stuff and so awesome, thanks for sharing Mad.

Stolen02: Consistent moves on whole run
Stolen03: Fun and very special part at 12s
Stolen04: Awesome end starting at 21-22s
Stolen05: Always nice to enjoy that kind of Elma-moves done that fast
Stolen14: Once again, the player teaching the designer how to do it since that shortcut was not planned at all and its so well executed

Some time after the table already gone, so it's about time to share the int47 rec.

What can I say about it, there's nothing to complain about the bounce. I find it more than 100% legit, no weird wheelpops osv, and this kind of bounce is really repeatable for me, I had lots of same looking bounces with this style (look at my overall int47 best times...). It also allowed me to go for alospinning to flower, which I believe was needed in this run to make the time u19.16 with my SL experience :)

Fun fact: I found new bottom style and used it, it's not faster than the wheelpop one but better because preety much same fast. It's just slightly better than old alolanding if you can get that good killerdodge, a little bit faster and more consistent for me. For the bounce legitness I can also say its driven on my high fps (600ish), so I'm preety sure it's better than all these int30 bounces etc. Anyway, go and eye it yourself:

same bugy just poping more perpendiculary towards ground than stini

edit: I think i looked hostile there sory. I mean aesthetically it does look better based on some generally agreed opinion what is aesthetically good looking rec and what is not, but technically speaking it's a bug like most enigma recs. I don't know why there was need for me to bring this up at all sory and gz for wr

what do you mean, 'a bug like most enigma recs'?

if we use the technical terminology that all bounces are bugs and that these bugs can be, depending on arbitrary criteria, approximated on the legit--non-legit continuum,

then if we say that it is 'non-legit like most enigma recs', then -- at least to me -- it sounds like unlogic.

this is because to me, what is legit or acceptable, is what can be reproduced easily. what cannot be should be ditched out for obvious reasons. but if 'most enigma recs' feature the characteristics we are seeing with this new wr, then shouldn't they be considered legit (read: 'bug-free', if we are using the popular terminology)?

nah there is an actual fundamental difference between fastest enigma recs and http://www.recsource.tv/r/zblkoyrswe

here the bounce is generated with typical brake physics, not the wheel-in-center division "error"

edit: ok fuck even this is probably a bug, eventhough it's over 0.1 from center. I tried changing to low fps at point of bounce and got much stronger bounce. So I think enigma is not even finishable without bug under 20

I know I'm not much of an authority about this compared to zweq, but I'm not sure why some others don't see his point. That Mjaltz rek was accepted cuz it wasn't more buggy than the old one, but it clearly gives some extra artificial speed to the bike, something that doesn't happen with normal bounces (see the replay zweq posted), and is buggy even though it's reproducible.

Not trying to take away the credit ofc. Just not sure why people say it's a clean non-buggy bounce.

yeah people turning it personal as always

i just think in general there are 2 kinds of bounces, those that come from norm brake physics and those that come from wheel in center of bike division "error", and that enigma is not finishable under 20 without the wheel in center division "error", thats all. (why else you can bounce with throttle when wheel is in center of bike, you dont even have to use brake)

throttling when wheel in center of bike thing reminds me a bit of trying to fit 2 magnets with same pole together, the closer you get, the more force there is trying to set them apart http://www.recsource.tv/r/yxrmiskcvd

but if you take a slight break in throttling when wheel approaches the center of bike, there is no more of this setting apart force. What happens when you throttle again in the very center? you "reactivate" the force again, but since you are in the very near center you get a "pop bug" http://www.recsource.tv/r/heyrkvwlmi

this is what i used in wcup702, i take a small break pressing any throttle / brake, and get a feel when wheel is in center of bike, and get a lot of bugs

also in my own theory this is why new players got a lot more bugs in 2000-2001, because they didnt use brake + throttle while braking. instead they moved their finger from throttle to brake and vice versa, giving these small delays of no brake nor throttle being pressed

Speaking of bugs, there are a few unresolved questions.

How did Stini manage to get so many strong bugs in Pipe? There must be something else behind them.
How come 60 fps is so good for the start bounce with the current style in Pipe and other fps don't work?
How come 100 fps was always so good for the Enigma bounce while 60 fps which is good in Pipe totally sucks here for a change?

Is there a magic fps that makes getting your wheel in the exact centre of the bike much more likely?

So in 2000–2001, common refresh rates were 60 and 80 Hz. Windows 98 would actually set it to the highest, so I guess that in the early days (about the first two years), most people would have it -- in average -- a little higher than the classic '60 Hz', which was the LCD refresh-rate standard before v-sync options were introduced (this, much later).

I just see another bug wr but it somehow looks "cleaner". The power of the bounce is for sure not normal, but it never is in this level, every pr in Enigma is a bug imo, including mine (which is not as strong as Mielz) http://www.recsource.tv/r/usqbwzitnj.
Interesting read, I agree with Zweq.

this is 'luc3.rec', and a prime example of the kind of bounces which were accomplished back then on a regular basis -- it happened at least on my side. strange thing that it did not occur to me as much outside that classic period, even though i always played at 60 (and at 80 hz in 2001). perhaps just because i played (way) more in the early days; who knows...

Drive badly so you don't have perfect grip and then frame advance to where you lose grip and press brake with low fps. Changing to high fps after every pop helps very much because you are much more likely to get a frame that is popable after you've lost grip.

30-100 or something is possible to pop with in saveload. Edit: also with live ofc but like easier with lower.

<Pawq> at a gym you have only 3 options: 1. have your eyes closed, 2. stare at yourself, 3. stare at others, all of which are either super boring or disgusting

Hi I'm almost active in elma and am tired of keeping things secret, have changed my mind to: let's share all styles and work together to bring down TT. Anyway here most of my WR recs, some might be shared before but probably not, some aren't WR anymore. Couldn't find 38 rec, if someone from SPEED or anyone else wants to upload it feel free.

33: http://www.recsource.tv/r/exaylgnobw Consistant midbounce setup was found by Finman. Jump to flower by me, taking credit since it doesn't do a bounce like some older sl recs and easy to do by human, thanks.

SL 33: http://www.recsource.tv/r/dpmjcyrwza The trick on the right wall is easy when you have the speed for it, did it many times in real runs but couldn't finish those. Do this if go for wr pls

i have my doubts in 33 mid bounce consistency ;) end was fucking simple and awesome and elegant and fresh and osv, just what non-SL riding requires
