Don't have any good guesses when it comes to who's winning but every year I try to watch as many nominated movies as possible prior to the show. Been watching the awards show live for the last 5+ years or so, always exciting and also a nice subject to talk about with colleagues (movie theatre) the day after. I'll write a post with my guesses when nominees are out.

SW: The Last Jedi soundtrack being nominated seems very weird to me. I honestly though it was the weakest one of the entire franchise..

Sure it does :bear:

Personally I am a bit sadly surprised Blade Runner 2049 didn't get more nominations. Imo Gossling's acting was fantastic, as well as directing there was awesome.

Added a few new comments. Only Phantom Thread left to see out of the Best Picture nominees. Wonder was a surprisingly good movie, better than most of the Best Picture nominees based on gut feeling when seeing them. Generally a quite weak year in the Best Picture category imo. Three Billboards is my personal favorite so far, I doubt Phantom Thread will be better.

Best Picture:

“Call Me by Your Name” - 6/10
“Darkest Hour” - 8/10
“Dunkirk” - 6/10
“Get Out” - 8/10
“Lady Bird” - 5/10
“Phantom Thread”
“The Post” - 6/10
“The Shape of Water” - 6/10

Daniel Kaluuya, “Get Out” Not the most difficult role but good movie.
Gary Oldman, “Darkest Hour” Impressive
Denzel Washington, “Roman J. Israel, Esq.”

Lead Actress:

Sally Hawkins, “The Shape of Water” Nice muted acting but duno if it's enough for an award
Frances McDormand, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” Yeah, maybe. At least served the movie very well!
Margot Robbie, “I, Tonya”
Saoirse Ronan, “Lady Bird” Nah
Meryl Streep, “The Post” Nah

Supporting Actor:

Willem Dafoe, “The Florida Project”
Woody Harrelson, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” Good character and acting.
Richard Jenkins, “The Shape of Water” Nah
Christopher Plummer, “All the Money in the World” Actually really good imo
Sam Rockwell, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” Good character and acting.
