Would you guys enjoy a mini-documentary about my trip to FEM?

1. I really dont know any ppls (the ones I've talked in the past are inactive)
2. It would be taken with smallish reso digicam
3. Shaky-cam
4. Not too long, maybe 10 mins --- I like editing videos

Please respond.

Yes please! I am also going to shoot some form of documentary of FEM so maybe I could even integrate some parts of yours into the film if you agree.

All Elmarelated nerdery is amazing. Ofc should do. Many ppl wrote logs/stories about their trips/meetings (often including pics) and those were always great. Allthough in video format it could posdibly be even better. Including diarylike selfie camera monolouges with thoughts and feelings would be sick fucking amazing!

This project seems very different from insguys project anyway.

Seeing Olliz would be sick, such a mysterious abscent legend in the scene.

Thanks for the couraging words Ramone. :P

I'm leaning towards some photo/video journal (70% photo, 30% video) .. starting from day 0 etc .. At this time it looks like I'll be staying only one night at teh place, but I think it will be plenty to gather some infos about mans ... If any femmer is totally negative about this thing, better tell me --- so I will not bug you with my black canon =) .. alrighty!

Day 0 could be me making those level(s) to teh meeting. I don't like selfie shit that much, so it will be minimum, we'll see.

Still lots of time left till the day.

But I've met nick-o-matic already (pls dont tell more nicksu) >:D .. so .. progress

See you all there.

And my 24h level pack is also quite confirmed. I've been designing some nice levels already :) Hopefully we will find a good day for that kind of competition.

Cool! Nice to see you all there!

Last year there was some discussion that should we include some "programmer's meeting"?
What about "level maker's meeting" or at least some kind of collaboration?
Just thinking... :)

Some guesses about schedule:
- FEM Quiz?: Saturday
- Beer battle: Saturday
- First Finish Cup: Sunday
- my 24h level pack: Monday - Tuesday
- Couples Contest: cancelled?
- 24TT: ?
- what else is planned?

Please discuss :) These are only my guesses. And this list contains only Elma events; there can be of course other things going on at the time.

Oke, after the latest response I think we'll hold teh Couples Contest after all, but there'll probably be no trophies cuz no time to make! (I'm leaving tomorrow already)

Since so many people are staying longer (of the 30 confirmed people only 2 are conf. as weekend and 2 more as weekend + 0-2 nights), I think could possibly hold it after the weekend for a more chilled atmosphere. But if there's room in the schedule during the weekend then ez!

Regarding the documentary film:
I will try to get as many of you guys in front of the camera for an interview (it is of course very ok to say no). While these alone should make for an interesting film I think it would greatly benefit from the viewpoints of "outsiders". So my question:

Who is being transportet to FEM by gf/bf/parents/friends? And would you kindly ask them if they were up for a short interview?

Also I want to interview the cabin lady, maybe nick-o-matic can help me with asking questions in Finnish?

Sure I can help with cabinlady =)

I btw hope the film will point out the awesomeness and insane depth of the game and e.g. craziness of wr style development. I think the ppl around the game are awesome, but we have these people sticking because the game is so awesome. Also would be cool if the film would feature material from next year's different FEM place (possibly our onion farm :D).

About the schedule - there has been a lot of discussion about the beer battle schedule. The strongest option is on Saturday during the FIFA world cup bronze game, which starts at 17:00. Would someone here, who is planning to play beer battle, have some objections on this? The game would be shown on the big screen, so one can spy it on half eye.

EDIT: FF-cup 7 will not be on Sunday at 20:00 because of football after all, it will be perhaps moved on Monday or Tuesday.

I think my competition won't be as "intense" as FFC. You can probably get a good result by playing couple of hours during that 24h period.

We are in the process of figuring this thing out. But it isn't so simple because there are so many competitions besides football. We suggest this kind of arrangement:

Sunday:
14:00 Start of 24h Virri pack
18:00-21:00 football on TV
21:00-23:00 Ruben's Elma grand prix

Monday:
18:00 End of 24h Virri pack
20:00-23:00 FF-cup 7

This way the 24h pack overlaps with EGP and football, but as a compensation few hours could be added to its time. It's probably good to have some break between FFC and Virri pack because ppl will probably hoyl it intensively at the end. What do you think?

Also Cabin lady confirmed that it will be possible to arrive to Virri already on Thursday!

It looks like the early afternoon hours of Sunday (12-16) would be perfect for the couples contest, as for obvious reasons only those actually present in fem can participate (some leave on Sunday). Maybe could start the virri pack at lajk 16 or sth (after cc), so that people can play before or during football if they want already, and then most of Monday?

That's ok too. FIFA finals will most probably be quite boring with no goals, so it's good to have something to play during it :D

I prefer not to have two elma competitions simultaneously, but that's ok if it's otherwise the best solution.

Such a solution is possible if your pack is started Monday night but then ppl are possibly exhausted after FFC, which ends around 23:00, and some people will already leave or have already left.

Yep, Monday night is possible starting time too. Then people would have whole Tuesday to play the pack as well. But that's the latest time I can organize it. But it's OK for me. Quite many players are there still on Tuesday I guess.

I think I will settle the FFC7 at 20:00 on Monday, you can choose whichever option then. :)

It looks like weekend is becoming pretty packed with events. That's nice but can be a little bit intense. Therefore, please everyone try to do enough shopping for weekend on Thursday/Friday!

I could in principle borrow a full desktop (linux, wine + elma installed) from university if someone wants and needs. Pretty many foreign laptop people would prefer borrowing an external monitor, so there is a need for more of them even though some people are already bringing them.

I also edited the Thursday starting time to topic title. It looks like pretty many ppl are arriving already on Thursday now. In case of someone missed, the reason is that Cabin Lady is kindly giving us the Thursday-Friday night free because nobody else is renting the cabin at the time.

Finally, please everyone remember the bedsheets or sleeping bag + pillow cover!

Finally finally,

Ok. If weekend is packed with events and Elma Grand Prix is on Sunday night (is it confirmed?) then I will start 24h Virri pack on Monday night shortly after FFC7 ends (around midnight). In that case, no other big contests on Tuesday, please :)
