It's not the right time to be sober, 'cause now the idiots are taking over. EM rox.
after doing deep researches on the current nes emulation scene, i've come to my final decision of "the" nes emulator to use, and it's definietly NNNesterJ. ( http://www.zophar.net/nes.html )
Basically, i was looking two extra features besides the basic stuff (states, good emulation etc), and those were 1. Auto-fire and 2. Joystick mappable Frake Skip, meaning i can decide what the FPS will be when i press a button on my gamepad. It's a very nice function if you play some games which has for.ex. long intros etc. Autofire is very important also, because many nes games are dependable on how fast you smash your buttons in some cases.
FCE Ultra was the other emulator which i was using also for a long time, it's also very good one, but it misses the other feature, auto-fire, so i couldn't get me to play all games with it, like megaman series, where autofire is extremely enjoyable. Only bad thing about NNNesterJ is that it's homepage and most of the help/info is japanese only, but it's not a big deal after all since you can find info on forums around internet.
So if you want my advice on console emulation, i recommend using...
NNNesterJ for NES Emulation (FCE Ultra as 2nd choice)
ZSNES for SNES Emulation (Snes9x as 2nd choise)
ePSXe for PSX Emulation (bios1001 or 7502)
if you got something to ask, i can try to help you.

...well, graphics were super, controls very nice, but I didn't like the challenge it had. It was way too overchallenging... I don't think I suck that much. Well, I played it trough anyway, definietly better than many other megamans.dz wrote:just ago patched rockman & forte (megaman 9) @ snes from jp to english (cuz it was released in japan only).
my friend says its best megaman ever so i need to try it for myself.
Just started playing ActRaiser on nes...
DAMN CHRONO TRIGGER IS JUST GREAT!!! it's not as hard as Final Fantasy games but it's refreshing to play a game as simple and good as it.. i just love it (die u fukin lavos ) im gonna be Chrono'ed for a while, telling everyone to download it and finish it.. ohh well... gonna play Zelda3 now
There's a game.. it's just silly but i like it (makes u think a lot) it's called Adventures of Lolo it's a puzzle kind of game but i kinda like it.. damn hard sometimes though..
a friend played Zelda Ocarina Of Time on the PC and Link had white clothes instead of the traditional green weird..
Recomendations:
SNES: Chrono Trigger (hyper-rox), Contra3, the Donkey Kongs, Mario World, Zelda's, Megaman (rox too), Punch Out! (cool one ), Final Fantasy's, Arkanoid (funny)..
NES: just so many
download the big packs from KaZaA, they have tons of games!!
i remember i played the snes version, where they kidnapped the professor and one of the toads, the middle size one if i remember well, so u could play with the big orange one and the little one with the shades .. i didnt finish it some years ago and i want my revenge but cant find the ROM anyone can help? i only have the one with the double dragons but havent played it..Dyrox wrote:Battletoads is one of the best game ever!

Not dead yet...
Well well.. I played Final Fantasy V trough the other day, I have pretty mixed up feelings towards it. Most significant feature it has is a "job system" which lets you choose specific "way" your characted will be developing as he gets points by killing enemies. You can specify as a ninja, monk or other fighter forms or you can be master magic caster.
The most significant part is that at any time, you can change the form just like that, meaning you can have many forms really well developed if you want to do so. But it takes time.. and this game requires leveling up relatively much also.
The problem is in my opinion that there just are too many job classes, too many special forms to what you can develope as. Sometimes you get in huge troubles because you don't have something which you would have if you had specific job class well developed, but what can you do if you didn't choose that one to be developed.. leveling up, leveling up.
The story was pretty ok, though not overwhelming. I was positively suprised about the amount of secrets the game has, though as being FF it's pretty normal.
I would give it out 7½ or 8- out of ten.
