Bullplop

Why does there need to be a reason? And what/who has the right to say what I can do?
Something will happen cos you, or someone else does it.
OMG I got run over today, I obviously wasnt supposed to live! Err...no. I walked out into the road just before a big ass truck hit me. My fault, not fate

the fact that outside factors influence the natural course of life, is only in itself natural. there is no fate but what we make. but is that entirely true? our destiny is not only up to us, no matter how much we would like it to be. is destiny the right word to use? or would a term such as "lifes path" be better?

in all sometimes fate is the only explanation that comes to mind for circumstances that we cannot understand. it is an excuse that is widely used to comfort ones desire to know WHY something occured. however it is used to loosely.

what about an example where you are "destined" to be king? some countries (not england as such) have royal families that still rule. if u are the first born son, it will be said that it is ur fate to be king, whether u are or not...

Thats not fate...thats being born into royalty! Whether or not thats good luck is debatable, but that's all it is.
Fate is used as an excuse too often. "I don't understand why ___ , it must be fate" No...how about co-incidence, or maybe consequence?
Life has no path...
Hmm, dont get me started on God...

That's your fate...
(Probably God want to punish you for something.)

lol, yeah, ok, God wants to punish me...that would explain a lot

really it doesnt matter if things were meant to happen or not. We can make choices, but we can only choose one. Therefore that one choice could be the thing you are are destined to choose...or it could be your random desicion as chosen by your magic 8-ball.
Either way, the same thing will happen.
I guess that's what i mean by fate not being real. Its not so much that i dont belive in it, just that it doesnt matter either way, so it may as well not.

Same with religion.
I dont believe in religion.

Unknown answer. I think that "free will" itself has no definiton in a world with time as a one-way dimension. Even the using of "I could" or "it could" it's wrong because there is no way how to go back in time to see effects of different action. Therefore it is impossible to tell if fate is real or not. NO! it's not impossible, the question itself is wrong and has no sense!
Reliance upon others is weakness for the strong, but strength for the weak.
