My worst scenario

Post by GuyB »

Well, my first HD broke down, with my state.dat and ALL my replays gone bye bye ... After that I have begun backing my elma-directory on cd´s every once in a while ..

Also, my screen isn´t broken ... YET .. but it won´t be long .. sometimes it just turns brighly white.. and I have to slap it on the side .. and sometimes it squeezes the picture together so that it only is displayed on half the screen ..

guess I should buy a new one 8)

You mean you and MP realized you can't beat me in the WCup and had to find some "good" explanation? ;)

Maybe I should take back-ups too? 2GB Elma folder.. I think the worst scenario would be that save & load program.

BarTek doesn't have an internet access at home so most likely he was in the school or at MIF's house writing that post.

When I First Started Playing Elma For About 1.5 Years Ago I Sucked. I Didn't Realize It At First. Then One Sunny Day My PC Crashed And My Elma Was History. All My "Good" Times Were Gone. That Made Me Mad. I Copied The Elma Again And Started Hoyling. I Hoyled All Day Long And Finally My TT Was Better Than It Was Before The Crash. So It Was A Good Thing That My PC Crashed

Yeh my hard disk broke down like a year ago and all my times were lost. :( I was very sad that day, boohoo. But it made me stronger and I have got better times to almost every internal, except to Enigma. Shit happens.

The worst elma scenario happened today. As everybody knows wcup4 round 04 ended and my name was not in the list. This was the second time my mail let me down, but at the worst possible moment. I had driven 1.11,41 last saturday and waited whole week for this.
..now I feel very bad and think about quitting cup, maybe the mood gets better tomorrow :(

cheer up mate!

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistling]
Always look on the light side of life.
[whistling]

If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle. That's the thing.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistling]
Always look on the right side of life,
[whistling]

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin.
Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It's your last chance, anyhow.
So,...

Always look on the bright side of death,
[whistling]
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
[whistling]

Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke. It's true.
You'll see it's all a show.
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistling]
Always look on the right side of life.
[whistling]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistling]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistling]
...

=) feeling ne better ?

This must be my worst elma scenario.

I had just downloaded WC406 this monday when my computer tilted... when i restarted, it was all messed up... i could barely save my state.dat, wc406.lev and a few other files to a diskette... after this the comp wouldn't even start.... so i could only play elma with my old comp which has no internet acces... when i had played wc406 for about an hour (and managed to do 1.04,55 btw), my other comp broke down too... so now they are both at my dad's workplace where some tech support ppl are checking them... (it looks bad, propably a nasty virus in the other and a broken hd in the other)

it's not yet certain whether they can get either one of the comps to work or not... if they can't, that would pretty much mean the end of my long elma career... :( unless i buy a new computer in the future... and thats pretty unlikelly since i can't spare that much money right now... all i have now are these random interenet connections at school, library etc...

btw i should change this stupid nick to cyre but what's the point anymore... ?

kind of a sad end to a 4 year long elma career...

Whee!! :D :D

i got my newer computer back from repair today ... it wasn't dead after all... and now i fixed my net connection also, after 3 hours of hoyling... now i just have to fix some minor things and i'm back in business... i guess those feelings of giving up came a bit too early... what a happy day this is... 8)

and sorry about being off topic like this... i'm just grateful that my worst elma scenario didn't happen after all...

it's nice to be back. :)

why do all ppl care if their states get lost?
I mean.. you still you know did those times anyway.. right?
I would care more over losing levels (not thinking of you rib) or recs... well.. some recs at least...

So pleae. explain to me why state.dat is so impostrant :D

Id say it mainly proof that you got the times, and all of the hours that went into getting them would be lost.
I got some times that woul dtake ages to get again, and really, I'd probably give up by the time I got them.
Still, it would be incentive to play more...

worst elma scenario is me getting 49:07 on this event, I played liek an ass to get 48... never EVER played this much in a level.. I did over 50 49:xx finishes but 48 never came... this would normally dont bother me... but thi stime I really tried.. never tried this hadr before.. I really though tI coul ddo well if I tried.. seems I was wrong... this feels very bad... I am after all just a crappy player.

Computer crashed yesterday and I lost all my stuff for my contest that I just started. Luckily I recently made a backup of all my other elma stuff.
