If you had saveload

Post by Abula »

A question for WR drivers:

What times you could do with saveload patch? Tell level and time and be honest or don't reply at all.

I don't remember all timez or name of guy but some russian kuski used saveload and had some recs on list before
Maybe some of his timez could be written here.

Abula, u could make a #target times list for those times we get and have had! Would be nice to see.
More realistic then your predictions imo ;)

sierria has link to darm's cheated times in sig.
a good (i.e great) elma player sharing cheated saveload recs that are way better than WR times could (would) help to improve WR times and get a more accurate wrtt prediction; BUT I'm against it. And I really don't think I have to explain why.

well i'm against more recs being created through a patch that is accessible to everyone. i suppose it's alright if say you (mila) used saveload to make a turna replay to copy from, as long as..., damn this will take forever explaining.

i don't really know where i stand, because looking at it, it makes it unfair for players that aren't using saveload to help them. so i concluded that noone should have saveload. but that way better-than-darm's recs won't get created. so therefore the only saveload recs that can be used to help are darm's. even so, saveload should be banned for everyone. but what about the helping out? do we need another darm? do we want another darm?

you didnt understand
darm was together with zweq in one team (and with tor and cloud before)
they had darm's rec without knowing they're cheated
they don't have saveload (i think, or atleast not darm's  )
members of anticheat group have saveloads to create some detection tools

I created this topic because I wanted to hear people's realistic opinions of possible times in theory. Sum those and pof we got 35mins TT, at least with help of new styles.

my personal opinion: even though DMD cheated, and got what he deserved for pretending that they were legit replays, i think he has helped most of us in one way or another. he showed us that theoretically at least, crazy, seemingly impossible times were actually possible. and he actually helped us all to become better; i am at least one person who found his replays inspiring, to say none-the-least. **thinks out loud** it wil be interesting to see how many flames i get for this post...

Count one flame for me

nah jk but really if DMD would w/out save/load be a 42-43 mins TT than think of the possibilities for someone driving 37-40 mins TT using save/load...

it would probly cut about 2% of the time out of each level...of course there would be exceptions like warm up but on average of 1.8% per level.

1.8% of 37 mins TT is about 39.96 seconds..so like .74 seconds improvement per level if my math is correct.

Think about it.

Since he started cheat and before he got 37.xx tt passed ~2 years, and during this time his skill might to increase, therefore difference isn't so big
