The math (which human being knows) is based on some postulates and this is one of them. It can be proved with math and without that postulate many things would be messed up.

actually it can be explained but not mathematically:

Explain this 1+1=2? (I made this up when I was some 6 years old

). I have 2 sacks of sand. I fill the other sack of sand to the other sack of sand. Then i got 1 big sack of sand and a sack... not 2 sacks of sand like in the beginning!!! How can this be possible?

Well i fyou have two sacks of sand and you pour on einto th eother, it'll overflow and you'll be left with: 1 sack of sand, 1 empty sack and a pile of sand on the floor. in this case, 1+1=1 (and a mess)
