Funny New Elma Game

Post by devin »

You must check out this elma game created by a Russian kuski by the name of Cossades. In this game you are a little elma kuski who must run and jump to get apples, avoid killers, and ultimately, get the flower.

Download here  http://cossades.narod.ru/amle.zip

In the game you can also create your own levels too! Simply create a new text file in the amle directory named "editor" the next time you start amle, it is just the elma guy and a sky. To use the editor, use the mouse to place various objects. Select objects by using numbers 1-5. here is a list of what they do:

1. Ground w/ grass
2. Ground w/o grass
3. Apple
4. Killer
5. Flower

When you are finished with the level, do not exit just yet. You first must hit the "s" key to save it. Be sure to erase the editor.txt file when you are ready to play your level.

This game is not quite complete. When you finish a level it just says best time and you have to quit.

Omg, this is awsome ;D
So cool, elma version of super mario.
Would be nice if it were with internals, or just with elma menu, or just more options.
I hope someone will make more levs, or build more on this game ;>

heh it really was quite fun, would be cool to have it as a part of elma 1.3, like a minigame implemented in teh. the minus is that it's so much simpler than elma it'll become dull in no time. maybe somehow make some special hang moves or something that makes the game varied enough.

really nice game
this is an attempt to see if you can upload edited lvls
http://www.mxb.dk/upload2/level.vel

-you can, and here's a hint (until the game's upgraded):
created a lvl folder in amle and when you make a lvl copy it and then paste it in lvl folder and rename it, and when you want to retreive it rename it back to level.vel, and put the editor.txt file in the folder as well so you dont have to keep creating and deleting.

made a 'freefall' level, shortcut is a little easier though. rename before using

(Removed, old stuff)

The editor looks very nice because of it's simpliness. We could start battling amle-levs if there just was a way to record those runs :)

at this time wr's are

Code: Select all

1. 19,75 axxu
2. 8,87 axxu
3. 7,40 kyjelly
4. 9,37 axxu
My own times:

Code: Select all

1. 20,76
2. 9,53
3. 8,51
4. 10,79
btw, the results depend on the computer. For example luther falls down on a lev doing nothing and get 4.82 while i get 3.64, and ky even gets 3.63 =)

We've done some research on #amle. I made two levels, download them.

http://www.netikka.net/orccu/amle/downfall.vel
http://www.netikka.net/orccu/amle/sprint.vel

Ky Jelly got 3,63 in downfall, whereas Luther only could do 4,82. Veezay tuned a little and got 1:08,94 :D

In sprint tijsjoris got 9,76 and Ky Jelly 9,77, Luther höyled it down to 13,15 :)

So, at the moment we can't compete for fastest time.

EDIT: Well we can, but it's not too fair :)

aaagh i cant get anywhere near these times, i have a strong feeling there's a problem with the timer, or there are more keys than space left and right.

lol 16.31 on sprint
and 6.62-6.94 on downfall => faster when move left or right for some reason
OMG gay :(
at least that means my 25,64 on rez's level is probably best style :)

effects of tuning

previous^ times were made with vsync off
downfall: 6.62-6.94
sprint:16.31

turned vsync back to ON:
downfall => 3.64-3.65 (against faster when moving)
sprint => 9.76-9.78 faster when held UP (wtf???) and same speed when holding space (WTFF???)

and quicktime (v-off again):
downfall: MASSIVE inconsistency: 6.11, 6.62, 6.78 and 6.92
sprint: NO inconsistency: 16.31

quicktime (v-on again): same

if you have df=3.85 (nothing touched) and sprint=7.78 (only left) then we can compare

Rez001-15.89
TJ001-9.95

Don't make some tables for level packs... just make some fun levels.

This game will never be as popular as Elma or any other elma version but, damn it's fun !
