national feel in elma

Post by GuyB »

i spoke with KD today and we talked about national feelings in the elma-scene

In denmark elma is growing. It has been for a few years now, but the scene is still relatively small. We have had a few meetings irl ( both for elma and for drinking ) and we have our own national channel. My site is a gatheringpoint for danish kuskit and we generally know eachother. This has given us a huge national feel. We ARE the danish representatives in the scene.. It is a very cool feeling and I am very happy about the way things are here in Denmark.

My question is now.. How is it in your country ??? and why ??
I could emagine that things were different in Finland due to the huge amount of kuskit in that country.
Share your opinions and thoughts about this  :teeth:

and to the danes.. this is how I percieve the danish scene, if you disagree then plz comment here also 8)
..

I just cant see any reason for me to connect with other Swedish players just for the sake that they are swedes too. I mean, if a kuski is nice, he is nice independently of Nationality. I like many swedish players. And sometimes it can feel relaxed to be able to write your conversations in swedish, but that is not a very big deal. I like the Nice folks... wether they are swedes or not. I dont even think lower of the American Kuskis. (I mean, just because USA suck)

/ramone (sweden is best and all other kuskis go to hell  )

Here, elma scene dosent exist. There are only few players and only one is active :P But I don't give a ****. I don't care if they find this game so "boring" and "stupid".

*bringing back an old topic

i really think Wcup is bringing back some countries together...

Canada had less players ( lost Terzz, stryk and others ). Even ciph had seemed to have quit the game until WorldCup started.

I really think it's great, Canada has more good players now : ciph, Dynamo, twipley, Miekk, Juish, Memphis, agent#00negro ( even a good rapper like ciph), pedro and me... and the scene in Canada seems to be growing quite fast ...

Go CANADA !

Indeed. WC5 have made some danish players begin again too. And the helping between danes are better than ever before.

British spirit is non-existent. Me and MJXII usually argue with each other, and zaraptor never speaks. Though I think he talks a bit with MJ. Whatever, there is no sense of patriotism, other than that which one of us will artificially inject once in a while in #battle or something. Not that it's a bad thing...

Further discussion on a Canadian Elma Meeting can be done elsewhere but in this thread.
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

French community is growing but its still not as big as finnish community (we are nearly 10-15 kuskis) :? . i do hope that more frenchies will come and will be more present in the scene ^^ But there's a good spirit between us ! and thats teh point :)

I am from Hong Kong... but this game seems to be absolutely unfamous in Hong Kong nor China. I don't know if there are anyone here who are Chinese

Now, only my brother, I and one of my classmate play it, we are still working at internals (only started to play level 19-54 in last September), I had asked my classmates to play, but some do not have interest at all and some don't play because of the first poor impression of the graphics.

I am now hoping that one day "HK" can appear in the nationality in moposite

bkhenson: me neither. But I guess he wants to know, wether you have beaten all the levels, and if so, you could tell your TT. (Inside elma folder, stats.txt)

And it's nice to finally see people from the far east. Be sure to stick around some years!

I haven't play all the levels. Originally before my harddisk crash, I left Tricks Abound and Apple Harvest not played. But now, I left Labyrinth Pro too... The crash also removed some of my records, e.g. 6, 7, 9, 15, 16, 17... I haven't played that again. The time was dissatisfactory.
Also I hadn't paid much effort on latter levels, so again the time was poor... (you can see like ZigZag, Double Trouble, HeHe)

But I will pay much more effort from now on as I have finished my public exam (i am secondary 5) and have a three-month long holiday.

you can visit the homepage I made, which show my brother (alvin), my classmate (jacob) and my times dynamically. My classmate was the best among us since he played it everyday a few months ago but my brother and I didn't.

http://elmatime.no-ip.org

p.s. I have played elma for 4 years... (not continuously) but in the first 2 years I know nothing about the techniques, so that was quite wasteful
