Time for more than 9 chars in #across nicks?
Times are changing. Apparently more and more IRCnet servers are allowing more than 9 chars in nicks now. Maybe it's time for #across to follow the trend and stop banning ppl with more than 9 chars in their nicks.

nice double post noob,
nothing wrong with 9, doesnt need to be any more, if you cant find a way to fit your nick into 9 characters maybe go join dalnet or efnet. if viperkillerguy can do it, so can you

there's no need to join other network to have long nick. but it's typically finnish höyläz to want this kind of rule. not allow long nicks for no reason at all. then come with insubstantial explanation. if you can't come with a longer than maybe rethink your nick? what made 9 such a good length? maybe should shorten it to 8 then?
for some reason these finns just think everything should be the same FOREVER, but can't explain why. i'm ashamed of being finnish.

#across is quite conservative place, yes.
One thing: it looks very stupid when the talk goes like this:
<px> wr table up
<ONLAINARIINARIS> ooh, whats the wr tt?

<ONLAINARIINARIS> ok good
<ONLAINARIINARIS> let's have a deep covnerstaions, tell something px
<px> Wolstenholme primes are named after mathematician Joseph Wolstenholme, who proved Wolstenholme's theorem, the equivalent statement for p3 in 1862, following Charles Babbage who showed the equivalent for p2 in 1819.
<ONLAINARIINARIS> In mathematics, a Wieferich prime is prime number p such that p² divides 2p − 1 − 1; compare this with Fermat's little theorem, which states that every prime p divides 2p − 1 − 1. Wieferich primes were first described by Arthur Wieferich in 1909 in works pertaining to Fermat's last theorem.
