Elma Knockout Cup

I thought about a very nice idea:
to make a new worldcup (not now because the World Cup 4 is running) that will be a knockout cup. You know, each round the participators will be divided into couples and every round half of the players will go out.
I think it will be much more fun than the curren World cup that is based on a League style.

It doesn't matter now what exactly will its rules be. I just want to hear anyone's opinions about this idea.

i like the idea. problem is that it doesn't tell the true order of "who's best".
would the lev b different for each couple or?

Always after WCup there appear many other cups. People are fed up with them (because of WCup) and don't participate too much. Some months for a break would be recommended.

There has been once Elma knockout competition arranged by Eufint and FoSS (?) [TLT]. It gathered pretty many people to participate.

i think something like this has already been played...but as elma league showed one-on-one with different levels requires too much levels...i mean that would require hundhreths of levels...is it too much?

though it's a fun idea...but i hope there would be a little pause after wcup4 before any new big events...few months or so...

what I thought was a wcup kinda BIG cup but 1h - 24h events,so it brings more skill and less hoyling power skills. Like formula1 kinda thing every weekend an event etc.

Let's have a cup where the first event lasts 1h, second 2h .. and the last one 24h. So it will take 1+2+3+4+5+6...+24=300 hours (about 12 days), no any breaks between the events.

=) 12 days playing 24h/day. that'd b k3wl. after it ppl would go to hospital for hypotrophy, dehydration and sleep debt..

Yeah, it sounds like a good idea, but it should be split into n00b/non-n00b sections. (Just like all the things that make elma great

)
Then the 2 winners can play each other...and if the n00b wins...(s)he gets........something really good.

how would ya define who is n00b and who is not? I guess u could choose in which of them u would play but...someone non-n00b would enter the n00ber category and shit happens. Maybe total time?

Hey, It's really matter when this cup will occur (if so).
I think too that there should be a break after Wcup4 but after that break if someone can take on himself the arrangement of a cup like this, so it will be vey fun. (only if there will be enough participators...)

Oh, and don't expect as many participants as wcup; kahvicup, for instance, had like only 8 participants on some event

I can easily arrange a n00b cup if you are interested.
Just need some levels, (will not use my own new levels(kopaka11-20.lev))
