let me try with my vision:
american dad: average, with some funny episodes, but rare compared to others
family guy: always irl lol, every single episode made me ekstremely ROFL. fantastic idea
the simpson: never any REAL funny parts, only abit giggle, perfect show if you zap the tv and its on, you can always watch simpsins. some episodes are booring

american dad - okz. not particulary hilarious but has some nice gags now and then.

family guy - well pretty much the definition of 'hilarious'. who cares about plot and shit - i'm too busy laughing my ass off.

simpsons - a show to watch with family or something for some 'hihi's and 'haha's. overally tends to get boring.

futurama - better than simpsons, lots of good gags.

i have to agree with 8-ball that futurama can be seen as improved simpsons. nevertheless simpsons are my alltime-favourite show, i even enjoy watching same episodes several times. i haven't seen family guy a single time, Igge's youtube-link was pretty damn unfunny tho.
