WHEN WILL ELASTO MANIA DIE?

Post by Slender Belly »

As we all know games eventually die out. So when do you think elma will? This year, next year, 10 years?

I think max 5 years and elma might be gone  .

What do YOU think???

depends very much on if balazs makes new elma..
let's say i won't....then I think it will atleast take 3-4years, hopefully more.
But if he makes new elma AND new internals, it will take over 7years

Like Kopaka said if Balazs release a new elma with new internals and new functions (read New versions-topic) elma and "elma 2" would be played for many years from now...But if Balazs don't release "elma 2" then I think elma will die out when moposite is shut down..:(
Moposite is the only site which all kuskis know about...

And Bonobo I don't think you would like elma that much if you play it until you are 80 years old...

Its true, but elma isnt like normal games...
usually, games are a story, you can complete them...then it finishes...
elma doesnt have an 'end' so you keep playing....on and on...blehh

nah it wont be fair caus they will get inside the computer game and use mind control on the elma guy, to make him go faster, a method that will be undected by any anti cheat shit ever, or they will have some freaky super eyehand conordination and ability to tim everythink to perfection,
basically the tt will be under 35 in no time

I think it's mainly up to Balazs and the mopocrew to decide when elma passes on to the eternal fields, so if everything continues to go as it's been going up till now, then we'll have to teach our grandkids the good old styles someday :P

Agree, the sound is very important. You just can't play without sound, would be like playing Q3 without a screen. btw Q3 is still the king of fps! :)

i think if there's no new version released, it might die, but i can easily see someone starting an elma revival afterwards, in other words, elma will be around a LONG time.... well hopefully anyways :D

The game itself will never die, the scene will eventually.

I feel like it's actually beginning to fade mainly because we don't hear from Abula anymore and many contests were dropped (KOM,LOM,etc).

Ballelma clearly brought interest back but, i don't know if it'll last... (i sure hope so)

One thing i remarked is that the scene merged towards short term activities. The main interest is battles and short levels (hoyling levels). We no longer see contests (except for Mopokup3), nor levelpacks with regular levels (Olliz, skint, villej).

might be a sign of something...

that's why I have been pointing fingers at abula, cant be that hard to update records and most essential news OR give someone else teh keys to do it at least, jeeses.

elma dying is overdramatized at this point though, I'd say february looked worse than it is looking now. Besides I quitted wow, not only because I grew tired of it but also because I realised I love elma and want to show an example how to fight against the game dying. I have put elma to #1 habbit, whether it's good or bad day I'll spend time with my "habbit", just like guitarplaying or whatever. I don't know, I see a difference in playing a game or spending time with habbit at least, because there are more principles involved, evolving skills and stuff.

Might sound like an obsession since there's nothing to gain :p but not like I gained anything by playing guitar, in fact elma has greater things to offer imo

I remember 'bout three years ago when I was visiting my brother 'Chazz' and he was playing battle with about 25 other dudes! Nowadays I go there or friend Jake's place theres none playing battle... I hope Elma scene will be revived someday.
maybe that's cause they completely stopped playing?! :?
But plesase convince Chazz to come back and start making battle levs, he's still the best ever.

If WC ain't your priority, i'm guessing you are working on an automatic state.dat uploading system for the records section! I really don't see what else is more important than WC...
