Can't delete exact.exe

Post by ville_j »

Ye I have a problem. I have this prog (I guess milagros made this) which tells exact times of replays. I want to delete it, but I can't. It says something that it might be in use or something, but I think it's not. Cuz I have rebooted my comp and tried to delete it right after, but still it's not working. It sounds weird for so plz tell how I can get rid of this crappy thing

You have WinXP? If you do then Ctrl+Alt+Del and go to Processes. Look for Exact.exe and end process, now find file and delete it. Hopefully work

Its pretty simple. I had the same problem with another file. Share the folder completely on a LAN or something and then another windows user can delete it.

Hehe, you call that simple? I don't think it's that simple if you need a working LAN network in order to do that ;)

Here's an easy way (2k/xp), open task manager and delete all "explorer.exe" processes, after that, start a new process "cmd.exe" within the task manager and now you can manually remove exact.exe via prompt.

Dz, that didn't work if I understood it right. I checked and there was no exact.exe running, so I started a new process cmd.exe and tried to delete exact.exe but no, it still complains. Free translate from finnish:
"Cannot delete exact: yhteiskäyttövirhe.
Source- or targetfiles might be in use"

What's the big problem, you can't delete the file and so what ? It isn't really a big file that takes alot of disc space. Just let it stay?

better take some hackerstool from some hackersite to pass the file read-only shit or whatever. (maybe http://www.govermentsecurity.org)
I dunno if that site helps, but just try. :?

Are you sure you did what dz told?

in task manager (ctrl-alt-del window) close explorer.exe

in same task manager take file-new task and write cmd.exe , then use that prompt to delete the file. navigate to exact.exe's path and "del exact.exe" or right in the begin of dos prompt write del "C:\kulli\exact.exe" if that's the path...

if this really didn't work, try same in safe mode...
