Elma running smooth

Post by KuRi »

I'm wondering if any of you guys know what setting make the wheels running smooth/running like in 60Hz mode?

I'm using Windows XP & 150Hz (using Refresh Force) in Elma. I used to have smooth 150Hz elma wheels (I can see every spoke of the wheel with full gas) but now (after some driver updates etc.) I have these ugly 60Hz wheels with 150Hz monitor :(. No matter if you use ATI or nVidia graphics gard, sometimes you have smooth wheels, sometimes not.

The wheels looks same with 120Hz & 150Hz & 160Hz. Also I think in this mode the whole game is much smoother than in 60Hz-mode.

In win9x there's no problem, u'll always have smooth wheels if the monitor has good refresh rate.

WOW!

Working perfectly with QuickTime in the background. Now the question is, why is that? :)

EDIT: It's running smooth also with Windows Media Player in the background.

It works also fine if you have Muropaketti-site open in Opera in the background.

It's because the opened programs slow down your pc a bit... making elma looking smoother, cuz it runs slower...

nothing really spectacular, except for that you won't drive a wr with this :P

Well, that might be because of all those spyware programs trying desperately to connect multiple times to internet without success. ;)

i dont see why quicktime makes your drives slower, that's very interesting.

Maybe Quicktime and Windows Media Player turn off/on VSync...

Maybe VSync is the thing that make elma laggy ( that would be stupid and strange but... )

quicktime and wmp dont alter vsync, but they may alter the frame rate, which is what vsync also does. and yes, quicktime does slow down your drives 8O (thanks karlis)
